‘I’m politically homeless’: Lia Thomas controversy a real eye-opener for many ‘feminists’

As the controversy over women in men’s sports rages on, owing especially to biological male Lia Thomas dominating NCAA women’s swimming, some radical feminists are feeling erased from the conversation and it’s not their imagination.

Fox News Digital interviewed several feminists during a protest against Thomas’ recent crowning as champion of the women’s 500 freestyle event. They have “walked away” from the Democratic Party and predict that other formerly-devoted liberal Democrats will do the same. The protests at Georgia Tech University, the site of the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship, have been ongoing since Wednesday.

“I was historically liberal. I would say I’m politically homeless now because I don’t think the Democrats care about women and girls,” one activist with the group Save Women’s Sports told the outlet.

“Feminism has become so muddied, much like the term Democrat has become so muddied. It’s practically lost all meaning,” Amy E. Sousa, a self-described “radical feminist” and leader in the group said.

“I am a lifelong registered Democrat who ultimately feels politically homeless,” Sousa added. “With the whole Biden election, I began to feel more and more disenfranchised from Democrats as a party, and I began to feel more and more that they did not represent my beliefs or my views.”

She said that Biden’s executive order banning discrimination based on gender identity was the straw that broke the camel’s back for her, describing it as “a slap in the face” and adding, “from that moment I really haven’t known how to categorize myself politically.”

Yet another member of Save Women’s Sports said, “I always voted as a liberal, from 18 to 39. I registered Republican in 2020 after two politicians told me they did not want my vote because of my stance on the rights for women and girls.”

While the group believes in nuanced rights based on sex, they don’t agree that biological males should be able to compete against biological women in sports, an idea which is tirelessly championed by Democrats and the radical Left (which is arguably redundant.)

“They wanted to put men in prisons and men on sports teams and in my daughter’s school, so that’s why I decided I cannot be a part of this party anymore — that doesn’t even recognize my sex class,” the woman explained.

As far as the upcoming midterm elections and onward, at least one woman believes the Democrats’ nonsensical agenda along with their defiance of natural science and objective truths will spell doom for the party.

“I know a lot of historically liberal people, especially parents, who have felt like they needed to walk away from the Democratic Party,” she said. “I don’t know who they’re going to be voting for in the next elections. I think that we’re going to have a lot of people walking away really.”

Leftists generally have a hard time defining what is true and what isn’t, and they seem to think that when asked to define what a “woman” is, it’s some sort of trick question. The principal definition of that oh-so-controversial word in Webster’s Dictionary is “an adult female person.”

But many refuse to acknowledge the simplicity of that, and also routinely ignore the “logical” part of bio-logical.

Most recently and quite notably, President Biden’s Supreme Court nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson – who is a woman – was unable to define what she thinks a woman is.
