Former secretary of state and so-called “Climate Envoy” John Kerry continues to remain untethered to reality, expressing to BBC Arabic (U.K.) only hours before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that he hopes President Vladimir Putin “will help us to stay on track with respect to what we need to do for the climate.”
“I’m very concerned about, I’m concerned about Ukraine because of the people of Ukraine and because of the principles that are at risk, in terms of international law and trying to change boundaries of international law by force. I thought we lived in a world that had said no to that kind of activity. And I hope diplomacy will win,” the Democrat said.
“But massive emissions consequences to the war but equally importantly, you’re going to lose people’s focus, you’re going to lose certainly big country attention because they will be diverted and I think it could have a damaging impact,” said Kerry.
“I think hopefully, President Putin would realize that in the northern part of his country, they used to live on 66 percent of the nation that was over frozen land,” he said. “Now it’s thawing and his infrastructure is at risk, and the people of Russia are at risk.”

“And so I hope President Putin will help us to stay on track with respect to what we need to do for the climate,” Kerry added.
Kerry’s only purview seems to be demanding that Americans reduce their carbon footprints and lecturing other nations on the supposed dangers of fossil fuels while ignoring the idea that the latter is arguably responsible for lifting millions from abject poverty and the development of prosperous nations.
Moreover, he has been criticized on multiple occasions for the hypocrisy common to those who demand that Americans do as they say and not as they do, specifically his regular use of a private jet to conduct both business and pleasure. He allegedly used a private jet to travel to Martha’s Vineyard for former President Barack Obama’s lavish and now-infamous birthday bash in August of 2021, though he claimed at the time it was all a misunderstanding.
As BPR reported, Steve Milloy, a former member of President Donald Trump’s transition team and founder of JunkScience.com described the double standard as such:
Elitist Kerry has justified his massive carbon footprint by saying that he is an important guy and must jet everywhere to save the planet,” Milloy said. “On the other hand, cynical Kerry has admitted that even if the world cut emissions to zero, that would not solve the ‘climate problem’ … Sure, Kerry makes a good poster child for climate hypocrisy, but he is not alone. Al Gore, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Leonardo DiCaprio, Barack Obama are some other mega-carbon footprint-making climate alarmists that come to mind. Having learned nothing from Marie Antoinette, these climate hypocrites sabotage their own efforts.
The above clip of Kerry’s inane observation in light of a possible large-scale war in Europe drew its fair share of fire on Twitter:
Putin has pledged to only launch free-range, grain fed, ethically sourced, non-GMO, renewable nukes at the countries he invades. I believe him.

Climate fanaticism has reach insane levels, but this is still pretty special. Imagine thinking that Putin would be swayed by the climate impacts of his invasion, particularly the thawing of Russia’s frozen land mass?

This is so embarrassing and dangerous. The single most effective thing we can do for the climate is advance economic freedom (including rule of law and democracy) . Free economies are twice as clean as less free. Reagan’s NSC made this case in 1983.

I’m sure Putin’s climate commitment is right up there with the Taliban’s.

I see we’ll be trading Ukrainian sovereignty for carbon tax credits.

Author Stephen Hayes, who posted the video, was not without reproach as well.
Well you more than helped elect this president and administration so this is what you asked for. Not sure how you can even try and justify criticizing this when you helped bring it about. Hope your happy now
