Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) kicked a leftist hornet’s nest by asking on Twitter where former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was when former fashion agent and Jeffrey Epstein associate Jean-Luc Brunel allegedly committed suicide in his Paris prison cell on Saturday.
“Anyone know where Hillary was this weekend?” Cruz tweeted in response to a piece at The Independent on Brunel’s convenient and suspicious death. He is evidently referring to the numerous suicides that occurred while the Clintons were in office. Many on the right have joked about supposed “suicides” of people who had dirt on Hillary Clinton in the past.
According to the Paris prosecutor’s office and NBC News, Brunel, 76, was “discovered dead from hanging himself with his sheets.”
He headed several modeling agencies, including the famous Karin Models Agency, and was charged with sexual harassment and the rape of at least one minor over the age of 15 in December 2020. It had been alleged that he helped recruit girls for Epstein. Brunel was taken into custody at Charles de Gaulle Airport while attempting to flee to Senegal in late 2020. According to his attorneys, he maintained his innocence as he was being detained awaiting trial.

Brunel’s lawyers told NBC News in a statement that their client had “never stopped claiming his innocence and had made many efforts to prove it. His decision was not driven by guilt but by a deep sense of injustice.”
Epstein also committed suicide in his jail cell three years ago under suspicious circumstances while he was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. The accused pedophile was connected to many famous and powerful people such as Prince Andrew and former President Bill Clinton.
Clinton has been making headlines recently, including her high-profile speech at the New York Democratic convention and for Special Counsel John Durham’s filing that ties her to spying on former President Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election and afterward. She has apparently been deflecting questions left and right over her involvement in the Russiagate scandal.
The left immediately pounced on Cruz via Twitter for trolling Clinton with all kinds of libelous statements not only about the senator but about his father as well. He evidently hit a nerve big time.
