Former U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) was announced as a guest for the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), triggering outcry and condemnation from liberals.

Matt Schlapp, Chairman of the American Conservative Union and CPAC, tweeted the announcement Monday that Gabbard had been confirmed as a speaker for the annual event being held February 24-27 in Orlando, FL.

Gabbard will address the annual conference’s Ronald Reagan Dinner on Saturday night, according to The Hill. The former 2020 Democratic candidate for president will speak the same night Glenn Beck will deliver the keynote address during the dinner.

The three-day conference kicks off on Thursday and other speakers include former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, all three are seen as potential contenders for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, as noted by The Hill.

Instead of applauding the effort by the conservative organization to reach across the aisle in attempting to bring some unity to the nation as they have done in the past, hosting guests like Van Jones in 2019 and former Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) in 2015, detractors can’t seem to tolerate that a member of their own party would speak ill of the failed leadership and policies that are hurting the United States.

Justin Baragona of the Daily Beast tried to equate having an open dialogue with people of mixed viewpoints to turning toward the “Dark Side.” Sam Stein of MSNBC also quipped this was “Quite the journey.”

Demonstrating how out of touch MSNBC followers are, one person sincerely asked Stein why Gabbard hadn’t been challenged for her seat yet. (Hint: the answer is in the picture)

The “Former Congresswoman” and United States Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel had never towed the party line and continues to call shots the way she sees them, including recently when she weighed in on the Durham investigation.

“…the biggest threat to our democracy,” Gabbard opined, “is not some foreign country, but rather the Power Elite led by the likes of Hillary Clinton and her co-conspirators in the mainstream media.”

Gabbard has stood at odds against Clinton going so far as to sue the former secretary of state for defamation before later dropping the charges to focus on important issues.

Noah Rothman, another commentator for MSNBC (the co-conspirators Gabbard warned about) also missed the point that there are things that all Americans can agree on.

Perhaps Rothman could explain something of “integrity” and “human dignity” to his followers who detract from Gabbard’s accomplishments by pointing to her physical appearance.
