NFL photographer Kelley Smiley, who fell off a stage and fractured her spine while covering the Super Bowl parade and taking a picture of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, has deleted her Twitter account after allegedly racist tweets resurfaced online.
Stafford was reamed all over the place for appearing to just turn away after Smiley fell while his wife stood horrified and ran to the ledge of the platform during the Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl LVI parade this week.
Since then, Stafford and the Rams have offered to pay all of the photographer’s medical bills and buy her new camera equipment.
Smiley wrote on Instagram she was “Feeling ok” and added, “Thank you everyone for reaching out.” That account appears to have been deactivated as well.
Radar Online is reporting that Smiley’s Twitter account was no longer active as of Friday following the tragic accident that landed her in the hospital.
Although Smiley quickly deleted her account after tweets resurfaced from years ago that smeared Asians, blacks, and gays, it wasn’t quick enough. Someone screenshotted a whole bunch of her tweets and they went viral.
It turns out that @kellysmiley23 (she deleted her account) the female photographer that fell at the #Rams Championship Rally is a racist and a homophobe. But #MatthewStafford is the “bad guy”? 🤷🏻♂️ #KellySmiley #Racist pic.twitter.com/nClvqtrZ5Q

“Always little n***a,” Smiley tweeted in January 2014.
“Almost just got shot in the ghetto because [friend] wanted to f**k with n****s,” she tweeted in April 2014.
“Remember when we yelled f*****g b***h ass n***a at munger out my car,” she also posted in October 2013.
“N***a you just want to f**k,” and “n***a you can text me,” she tweeted in November of 2013.
Smiley has also been labeled a homophobe due to past tweets.
Unfortunately, Twitter is not about forgiveness of past mistakes which one user pointed out.

It is unknown at this point if the old tweets will jeopardize Smiley’s career with the NFL. It’s also not known how this will affect funds raised for her medical expenses. More than $48,000 was reportedly raised on GoFundMe to help the photographer out before the tweets surfaced.
A number of donors have stated they want their money back.
I donated to a lady’s GoFundMe who broke her spine during the Super Bowl parade..I assumed she worked 4 somebody important 2 be credentialed
Since donating, A LOT of terrible things have come to light from her Twitter account that I obviously don’t support at all..

“As we told Kelly, we will be covering all her hospital bills and replacing her cameras,” the Rams and Stafford announced on Thursday in a joint statement given to People. “We wish her a speedy recovery.”
“Thank you to everyone who has donated time and money to help Kelly out! She is very thankful and is overwhelmed by the amount of love and support that has been shown. Kelly has been discharged from the hospital and is resting at home,” the last update to the GoFundMe page stated. “We are pausing the fundraiser for now until we have further updates on how to proceed. Again, thank you all for the support and for the help in reaching the goal so quickly.”
Since the Staffords and the Rams are now footing her bill, getting the money from GoFundMe may be a moot point. So far, there is no word on whether the donations will be refunded over the blowup on Twitter.
