Fox News host Tucker Carlson mocked the media on Friday over their frenzy of scathing attacks on his reporting of the Russia and Ukraine situation, explaining that if you believe the leftist narrative that insists you must side with Ukraine then you are essentially calling the Ukrainian president himself an “Agent of Putin.”

“If you’re not terrified about the prospect of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the question is whose side are you on here? Whose side are you on?!” Carlson said facetiously on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” after noting that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky was not concerned about an invasion.

“And we know the answer to that question. You’re on Vladimir Putin’s side.” Carlson explained. “So it looks like the president of Ukraine himself has been compromised by Russian misinformation. The Ukrainian president is what we on cable news refer to as ‘an agent of Putin.'”

“And that means the Russians are so diabolically effective, they have recruited the guy they’re preparing war against. How clever is that? It would take a Slovic mind to pull that off,” Carlson said.

Carlson questioned the intense calls to support Ukraine on Monday, indicating that maybe it wouldn’t make a lick of difference to back Russia instead.

“Why is it disloyal to side with Russia but loyal to side with Ukraine?” asked Carlson. “They’re both foreign countries that don’t care anything about the United States. Kind of strange.”

Carlson noted that – at least according to the liberal outlets – Zelensky isn’t the only one who has fallen for the Russian mind control tactics as he and his viewers have allegedly also fallen victim to the Russian propaganda.

“We’re not judging him. In fact, we can relate, we can empathize – because you know if you watch the media, we’re agents of Putin, too,” Carlson mocked.

But the left was not satisfied with Carlson’s reporting of Zelensky’s message asking Biden to calm down the rhetoric and doubled down on their characterizations of Carlson as a Russian propagandist.

Carlson raised alarm over the reaction at the idea that maybe it’s not necessary to take a side between the two countries as we have more important concerns domestically than “the territorial integrity of a country we can’t find on a map.”

“In the United States, if you raise any questions about the wisdom of siding in a war in eastern Europe with one country over another, you are by definition an agent of the single greatest threat to democracy on this globe, mister Vladimir Putin himself. You’re treasonous,” Carlson concluded.
