Legendary singer and avowed leftist Neil Young posted a now-deleted letter to his management team on his website stating that he wants all of his songs pulled from Spotify if the platform doesn’t nix Joe Rogan’s hugely popular podcast due to “COVID misinformation.”
Rolling Stone first reported Young’s letter where he declared that he wants Spotify to “know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform.” It is unknown why the letter was removed from his website.
“They can have [Joe] Rogan or Young,” he allegedly wrote. “Not both.”
“I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines – potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them. Please act on this immediately today and keep me informed of the time schedule,” he continued.
“With an estimated 11 million listeners per episode, JRE [the Joe Rogan Experience] which is hosted exclusively on Spotify, is the world’s largest podcast and has tremendous influence,” Young, 76, added. “Spotify has a responsibility to mitigate the spread of misinformation on its platform, though the company presently has no misinformation policy.”

Legendary musician Neil Young may just have given the final blow to his legend.
He just pledged allegiance to tyranny and censorship. Did he forget why he was legend?

Mother Earth will swallow you,
Lay your body down.”

Rogan has been targeted by foaming at the mouth liberals over his stance against COVID mandates and forced vaccinations during the pandemic. Spotify reportedly paid $100 million for rights to the podcast in 2020.
Young’s Spotify demand follows a group of purported vaccine advocates, professors, scientists, and medical professionals who signed an open letter last week that asked Spotify to “take action against mass-misinformation events” on its platform after the “Joe Rogan Experience” (JRE) podcast ticked them off with a “highly controversial episode” interview with Dr. Robert Malone.
Malone referred to “Mass Formation Psychosis” which has been roundly attacked by leftists across the board, calling the theory illegitimate and unfounded. Fellow rocker Eric Clapton supports the theory, but Young was incensed by it.
It was discovered that many of the signers of the letter that was sent by “270 doctors” to Spotify were not actually medical doctors or experts.
“Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Joe Rogan has repeatedly spread misleading and false claims on his podcast, provoking distrust in science and medicine,” the letter contended.
“By allowing the propagation of false and societally harmful assertions, Spotify is enabling its hosted media to damage public trust in scientific research and sow doubt in the credibility of data-driven guidance offered by medical professionals,” it went on to ironically claim using obvious leftist talking points.
President Biden has also called on social media to censor those such as Rogan, who are opposed to vaccine and mask mandates as well as COVID lockdowns.
“I make a special appeal to social media companies and media outlets: Please deal with the misinformation and disinformation that is on your shows. It has to stop. COVID 19 is one of the most formidable enemies America has ever faced. We have got to work together, not against each other,” the president stated according to Deadline.
“The unvaccinated are responsible for their own choices. But those choices have been fueled by dangerous misinformation on cable TV and social media,” Biden said during remarks about the pandemic in December according to The Hill.
“These companies and personalities are making money by peddling lies and allowing misinformation that can kill their own customers and their own supporters. It’s wrong. It’s immoral. I call on the bearers of these lies and misinformation to stop it, stop it now,” he added.
According to Rolling Stone, this is not the first time that Young has removed his music from Spotify. In 2015 he removed most of his songs because he believed the sound quality was lacking but he “ultimately relented.”
As of 7 a.m. EST on Tuesday morning, Young’s music was still accessible on Spotify according to NBC News.
Many ripped Rolling Stone over its reporting on Young, many more dragged the rocker himself:
Neil Young is 76 years old and hasn't been relevant in 40 years, but somehow he thinks he can demand Spotify choose between him and the most popular podcast in the world.
Joe Rogan is going to win this battle every time.

Easy choice. Rogan. I love Neil Young's music. But I love smart, unencumbered, intellectually curious conversation more. Plus, there's always @EricClapton and @vanmorrison. https://t.co/j63X7G260b

All life’s decisions should be this easy.
“Well I hope Neil Young will remember, Spotify don’t need him around, anyhow.”

I just went to throw out my whole Neil Young music collection and realized I didn’t have a single 45, album, CD or digital song by him.
