An estimated 35,000 people. many holding hand-made signs, showed up in Washington, D.C.. on Sunday for a “Defeat the Mandates” rally.

The peaceful protest, which started at the Washington Monument and culminated at the Lincoln Memorial, featured speakers such as mRNA inventor Dr. Robert Malone, Dr. Peter McCullough, other doctors in white lab coats (who are perhaps risking their careers), members of the clergy, and controversial activist and Fauci foe Robert Kennedy Jr.

In addressing the crowd, they, among other things, emphasized freedom of choice and autonomy in medical decisions and cautioned against COVID-19 vaccinations for young/healthy people, and those who possess natural immunity.

Some at the podium called out the corporate media and Big Tech for what others have described as vaccine idolatry and imposing censorship on alternative approaches, such as the use of therapeutics.

Dr. Ryan Cole, for example, accused the journalism industry of “shilling for Big Pharma.”

Those in attendance included firefighters and nurses who have lost their jobs or risk doing so for declining the jab as well as concerned moms. The crowd also included those who are pro-vaccine but anti-mandate.

“The goal is to show a unified front of bringing people together — vaccinated, unvaccinated, Democrats, Republicans, all together in solidarity,” one of the event organizers told The Washington Post. A former lifelong Democrat told the Post that “This is not a political thing. If you want to get the vaccine, get it.”

“You’re going to hear a lot of people talk about on the left say this is a big, anti-vax rally — it’s people coming in to deny science. But this march is about the mandate, and this march is about the draconian measures that we’re seeing all across this country right now, especially in places like D.C., New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco,” march organizer Will Witt told Fox News Digital prior to the event.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention maintains that COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective and that everyone five years or older should get the jab.

The D.C. rally, in a city where vaccine passports are in effect, comes as triple-vaxxed persons across the country and around the world also test positive for the virus, which in its Omicron variant seems to have milder symptoms.

Here are some of the remarks by the speakers that you can review and draw your own conclusions:

One Biden-voting mother at the event, who emphasized parental consent as a prerequisite, insisted that the COVID-19 jab is still experimental, that there are no long-term studies, and that a small segment of the population has experienced side effects from this particular inoculation.

She also pointed to the unfairness to put anyone who questions this particular medication in the anti-vaccine camp.

The woman also recalled that “good-guy” candidate Biden said he had no intention of imposing any mandates.

Another attendee explained that he and his family had to relocate from Seattle to Arizona because of the mandates:

Perhaps carried away by the emotionalism of the moment, RFK Jr. claimed that “it was easier for Anne Frank to hide from Nazis than it is for Americans to escape vaccine mandates,”  according to the New York Post , a comment that was condemned by the Auschwitz Memorial.

Some of those on the left or the right often still don’t get that drawing analogies to Germany’s World War II-era genocidal regime is always seen as a bad and wholly inappropriate idea.

Not everyone on the scene was supportive of the Defeat the Mandates movement. (*Warning for language):
