In anything but what might be considered a spoiler alert, radical Democrat Maxine Waters claims that U.S. Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema “don’t care about minorities” because neither Democrat will vote to end the filibuster.
An “always optimistic” U.S. Rep. Waters (D-Calif.) also slammed Republicans, who are supposedly under the spell of Donald Trump, for their opposition to changing the filibuster math, which she argued posed a “difficult time” for Democrats and the country itself.
Democrats would love to end the 60-vote threshold requirement in the upper chamber to enable them to jam through the currently stalled, so-called voting rights legislation, as well as other components of their far-left wishlist.
Waters told MSNBC host Aaron Gilchrist on Sunday in the footage embedded above that “We have two Democrats, Manchin and Sinema, and they are holding up the Democratic agenda. They have decided that they are going to stick with support of the filibuster, and they don’t care whether or not they undermine the rights of minorities and blacks in this country…they don’t care about us…”
Those who fundamentally disagree with Waters would argue that the Democrat duo are all that stands in the way of full-on socialism in America. Imagine, moreover, the kind of even more extreme rhetoric at play in the political/media ecosystem if the GOP was still in control of the Senate.
In a form of projection that liberals have become known for, Waters claimed that “this democracy is at stake.” She also lamented that “domestic terrorists” are in the process of organizing.

Waters also slammed Republicans for their opposition to both changing the filibuster rule and opposing the sweeping proposal for federalizing voting.
“I would love to be able to come out of that Senate with the votes for voting rights, but it is going to be very difficult, if not impossible,” she conceded, noting that “I don’t know why people think that [Joe Biden] can make Manchin and make Sinema do what is right.
“They have sent the signal. They have been clear about it. They don’t care about minorities. They don’t care about blacks. They don’t care about people in their own districts who they’re going to deny their voting rights and undermine their voting rights,” Waters asserted, without evidence, about the two somewhat moderate Democrat senators.
She then pivoted to calling for at least one Republican to stand up for voting rights. In that context, she praised RINOs Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, of Wyoming and Illinois, respectively, for their role on the partisan J6 committee, which tells you all you need to know.
With that in mind, Waters advocated for one Republican to join with Manchin and Sinema on a potential “carve out” in the filibuster rule to allow a vote on the proposed bill that, among other things, would eliminate voter ID across the country and allow ballot harvesting everywhere as well as universal mail-in balloting.

Senate Democrats reportedly used the filibuster more than 300 times in the year 2020.
Last week, Democrats took advantage of the rule to block sanctions on Russia for its Nord Stream 2 pipeline in a bill proposed by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.)
Reacting to the congresswoman’s’ comments on Fox & Friends, U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) implied, that perhaps Waters may be in her own world.
“I just think it’s completely outrageous, it’s not based on facts. The reality is, is that what she and the Democrats want to pass by breaking the filibuster, something, by the way, that they have defended every single year that the Senate has been in existence up until right now….
“I think that Senator Manchin, and Senator Sinema are doing the right thing by maintaining the filibuster because its purpose is to protect the minority voices in the United States Senate. We are not a pure democracy. We are a constitutional republic. The filibuster is one of the mechanisms that helps to maintain the republic,” he said.
As a senator representing Delaware, President Joe Biden opposed any change to the filibuster rule, as did current Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.)
