The RNC has filed a lawsuit against the new mayor of New York City as well as the New York City Council and the city’s Board of Elections in an effort to protect the integrity of elections over a new law that tilts the table in favor of Democrats by allowing noncitizens to vote.
For those who may have believed that Eric Adams would be a vast improvement over the leftist fanatic Bill de Blasio and his policies that have laid waste to the Big Apple, it only took a few days for that illusion to be shattered.
Since he was sworn in during a Times Square ceremony right after the big ball dropped on New Year’s Eve, Adams has already demonstrated that he is prepared to pick up right where his predecessor left off, preserving the controversial private-sector vaccine mandate and brazenly moving to consolidate Democrat power by allowing noncitizens to vote in local elections.
Adams said that he would not veto a bill allowing the estimated 800,000 people who are not American citizens to cast their ballots in local elections, allowing a key piece of de Blasio’s legacy to become law and solidifying the Democratic Party’s grip on the nation’s largest city.
On Monday, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel took to Twitter to announce that the organization has filed a lawsuit in state court for “illegally allowing noncitizens to vote in city elections,” a case that will be watched very closely by Democrats who likely have plans to introduce similar laws in other cities that they control as the desperation to retain control of government mounts in the face of public revulsion over the party’s ruinous policies.

“American elections should be decided by American citizens. If Democrats can subvert elections this flagrantly in America’s largest city, they can do it anywhere. The RNC is suing to protect the integrity of our elections, and we stand ready to do the same wherever Democrats try to attack the basic security of your ballot,” wrote McDaniel in the statement.
“This radical scheme passed by New York Democrats to allow foreign citizens to decide American elections is a blatant attack on election integrity and violates the state constitution which requires New York voters to be U.S. citizens,” the RNC stated in a press release.
“The RNC is joined in the suit by the New York Republican Party and several concerned New York officeholders and voters, including city council members who voted against the legislation,” the organization added, noting that the new law “could add about 900,000 non-citizens to New York City’s voter rolls,” a number that exceeds the margin in last year’s NYC Democrat mayoral primary.
On Sunday’s edition of CNN’s “State Of The Union,” Mayor Adams discussed the law with anchor Jake Tapper where he was put on the spot over changing his mind on allowing the noncitizens to vote, something that he denied doing.

“I did not change my mind,” Adams said, “I supported the concept of the bill. The one aspect of that I had a problem with, I thought was problematic, was the 30-day part, being in the country for 30 days, was the place that I had questions.”
“I sat down with my colleagues. I’m a big believer in conversation. We have to start talking to each other and not at each other. And after hearing their rationale and their theories behind it, I thought it was more important to not veto the bill or get in the way at all and allow the bill to move forward,” he added.
The early flip-flopping and double-dealing show that despite being a novice, Adams already has a firm grip on the ropes of Democrat machine politics and has drawn heat for immediately hiring his brother for personal security, an act of nepotism that he justified as being necessary due to the threat of white supremacy.
As the iconic British rock band The Who famously put it, “meet the new boss, same as the old boss.”
