Time to live our lives! Gayle King would rather ‘run down Times Square buck naked’ than work from home

CBS Mornings” co-host Gayle King expressed COVID fatigue and declared that she “would much rather run down Times Square buck naked than go back home,” during an interview with Stephen Colbert.

King, who says she is vaccinated and boosted, stated on Monday’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” that she’s “tired of being tired and afraid,” and that she does not want to have to implement the contingency plan to work from home that the network has required all hosts to have at the ready. In short, King refuted the leftist narrative and believes it’s time Americans learn to live with COVID and keep moving forward.

“And so help me Jesus, I would much rather run down Times Square buck naked than go back home,” she exclaimed.

“Buck naked,” King added. “That’s what I would rather do than go back home.”

“Gayle,” Colbert joked, “I’m telling you. Super Bowl ratings.”

“Super Bowl ratings are people going ‘I’m going blind, tell her to put on clothes!’” she laughed.

The morning television host and Oprah Winfrey’s BFF expressed a similar thought last year during a virtual interview for the May 25th episode of Colbert’s show: “Here’s the thing: I’m tired of being scared. Honestly. I’ve been so afraid, hunkered down here at home. I’m tired of being scared.”

During the 2021 interview, Colbert reminded King that she had been a virtual guest on his show around that same time the year before — on May 19, 2020 — near the beginning of the pandemic. King confirmed to Colbert that she hadn’t left her house in 32 days at that point.

“I was so afraid to leave the house, you’re right,” she recalled. “We were broadcasting from here, so I’d literally go from my bedroom to the TV room to the kitchen to the bedroom to the TV room. For excitement, I’d go stand in the living room and wave at the birds! ‘Hi, birds! Hi!’ I was so afraid.”

“But now, Stephen, I am vaccinated,” said King in the 2021 appearance. “It is my superpower. I am vaccinated….I’m taking little baby steps [back into the world].”

Although King has now been boosted, her anxiousness to get back to living normally doesn’t appear to be shared just yet by her bestie, Oprah.

Winfrey recently called out her friend publicly in a Facebook video for not completing the stringent four-part COVID protection strategy — “vaccinated, boosted, tested, and quarantined,” according to her Facebook posts — which is required to visit her estate, something her longtime beau Stedman Graham has dubbed “The Policy.”

Oprah went as far as to ban King from attending a party being thrown at the house a few weeks ago in December for King’s own grandson, born three months prior; in the video, Oprah chirps, “We missed his grandma Gayle King but she’ll join us once she completes the policy!”

Happily, Grandma Gayle was able to join her friends at their estate just one day later. Fully clothed.
