U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell set off a wave of reactions after calling it “one-hundred percent batty” that unvaccinated people are even “allowed to fly.”
The California Democrat tweeted Sunday that requiring airline passengers to be vaccinated in order to board and fly is the “LEAST we can do to stop the spread” of COVID-19 and its variants.
“On a flight now to Bay Area and it is one-hundred percent batty that the unvaccinated are allowed to fly. It’s unsafe in the cabin and we are transporting the virus. Requiring the vaccine to fly is the LEAST we can do to stop the spread,” Swalwell tweeted.
The Democrat seemed oblivious of the fact that vaccinated people continue to test positive for the virus. In fact, Swalwell’s tweet came the same day Sens Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker announced they had both tested positive despite having double doses of the vaccine and a booster shot.

Earlier this month, Swalwell had made a “prediction” in another tweet that the country “can go from 60% Americans vaxxed to 80% if we require vaccines to fly.”

When Rep. Kai Kahele, D-Hawaii responded to Swalwell, saying she and progressive Rep. Ritchie Torres’, D-N.Y., were pushing legislation that would essentially ban the unvaccinated from flying at all, Swalwell tweeted back, “Count me in.”

As reports rise that many of those across the nation being infected with the omicron variant of COVID-19 had been fully vaccinated, Swalwell’s tweet about banning the unvaccinated from flights sparked plenty of commentary on Twitter.
And I’m not sure this does anything as we’re in the middle of a pandemic of the triple-vaccinated. https://t.co/UCurq3aTg0

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced this weekend that 80 percent of COVID-19 “Omicron variant” cases are found in so-called “fully vaccinated” individuals.
That’s why we are now calling this a pandemic of the vaccinated.https://t.co/z2mKL0x0J9

International flights (mostly) need vaccination yet Omicron went global quickly.
Moreover, you are falsely assuming that being C19 vaccinated means not carrying the virus. Check in with boosted @ewarren who tested positive this weekend.
Science-denying vaccine fanatic.

They want to mandate this for boarding planes but not for illegally crossing the southern border!

His tweet is vaccine disinformation (falsely claiming that being jabbed with the current C19 shots stops the spread), but because it’s on the side of vaccine fanaticism it does not get flagged or tagged by Twitter.
