MSNBC’s Joy Reid caustically commented during her show on Friday that people should listen to so-called health experts concerning COVID rather than Fox News host Tucker Carlson and former President Trump because they “don’t care if you die.”

The radically liberal host of “The ReidOut” had Dr. Vin Gupta and former Republican Rep. David Jolly (FL) on to discuss the spread of Omicron and how many Americans are choosing to just live their lives and put the pandemic behind them at this point.

“It does feel like there are kind of two kinds of people who are over COVID. In my experience, it’s the people in my life who have gotten vaccinated and gotten boosted and are like, ‘If these red-state people want to die of COVID, let them. I’m over it.’ They have compassion fatigue. So they are going on and living their lives because they are vexed and they are wearing their masks when they need to,” Reid remarked.

“Then you have the people in the sort of red-state world who just say, ‘I don’t care about COVID, I don’t care if 10 million people are dead. I don’t care. I’m not wearing a mask. I’m not getting vaxed. I’m living my life. With those two sets of people just being over it period, are we ever gone get over COVID? Is it ever going to go away?” she asked Gupta.

The doctor told her that Americans need to accept a “new sense of normal.” He feels they need more information concerning vaccines.

That wasn’t good enough for a venomous Reid. She was also incensed over an article in the left-leaning media outlet, The Atlantic. Matthew Walther wrote an essay titled, “Where I Live, No One Cares About COVID” which documents his experiences in rural southwest Michigan regarding the pandemic. Walther bluntly asserted that he and his neighbors in the area simply no longer care about COVID.

“I don’t know how to put this in a way that will not make me sound flippant: No one cares. Literally speaking, I know that isn’t true, because if it were, the articles wouldn’t be commissioned. But outside the world inhabited by the professional and managerial classes in a handful of major metropolitan areas, many, if not most, Americans are leading their lives as if COVID is over, and they have been for a long while,” Walther wrote.

Referring to Carlson’s sentiments on Thursday concerning COVID, Reid viciously stated, “Death means nothing to him. He’s like Donald Trump.”

Carlson’s monologue that set Reid off was a reflection of what Americans are thinking concerning COVID.

“So, here’s a piece of advice. If you find yourself living in a place where people are still talking about COVID nonstop two years in, it is time to move. Not just because your neighbors have been brainwashed – though obviously, they have been – but because your neighbors are boring,” Carlson stated

“At this point, it is simply not an interesting topic for your private life. Yes, COVID has killed a lot of people. So has prostate cancer. Imagine telling people about your prostate every day for the next two years. People would know that you were a narcissist. No one would sit next to you at dinner. You would be boorish. And that’s exactly what COVID talk sounds to the well-adjusted among us,” he continued.

“When we talk about COVID incessantly, we miss everything else, and that’s the real point. This is a big and complicated and completely fascinating world. Babies are born. The elderly die. And in between, all kinds of amazing things happen. We succeed, we fail, we scheme, we inspire, we fall in love, we create things that hadn’t existed before, we have deep and invaluable insights into life itself. Human beings do a remarkable variety of legitimately interesting things. Talking about corona is not one of them, so let’s stop,” Carlson added.

Reid concluded her rant by bringing both Carlson and Trump into the conversation, “We need to listen to experts, and don’t listen to Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump. They don’t care if you die. Let’s be honest. Tucker thinks it’s boring. Don’t look to him for your health advice.”
