Self-described Democrat Juan Williams, a journalist who seemingly gets paid by Fox News to go on TV and reliably bash Republicans with liberal talking points, has concluded that the GOP is an “anti-America party,” and it’s causing him indigestion.
Williams, a longtime member of the narrative-pushing media class that has sowed division throughout the country and whose long tenure on “The Five” has suggested that he isn’t all that well informed about current events, writes, in part, at The Hill, “I can’t stomach what has happened to the GOP in the last year. And I can’t understand why every American isn’t screaming about it.”
Acknowledging up front that both his sons are Republicans, reading between the lines of the opinion column, Williams seemed really upset that “contemptible” former President Donald Trump is transforming the grassroots of the GOP (plus independents and Democrats) into an America First coalition which is gradually supplanting the establishment or RINO cohort. Voters willing to “back Trump” is the fundamental problem, according to Williams.
“Doesn’t it infuriate you to see so many Republicans make lying about the winner of the 2020 election a test of party loyalty?” he wondered rhetorically — and don’t get him started about January 6.
“That means ambitious GOP politicians are right to imitate Trump’s tactics of inciting outrage and demeaning anyone, including Republicans, who stand outside the cult. It also means that Republicans are indifferent to the corruption in the Trump White House that has been detailed in numerous books,” Williams added.
According to Williams, Republican lawmakers voting against Joe Biden’s big-spending, socialist agenda is tantamount to “the self-destruction of the party” and that “the GOP wants to collapse faith in government to gain support for a coup attempt in 2024.”
Williams cited a lurid article in The Atlantic about how Trump is supposedly planning a coup via “election theft.”
In what could be seen as a coordinated effort, this is the same article that caused a “Meet the Press” panel to hyperventilate on Sunday morning.

In a recent broadcast, Fox News host Tucker Carlson opined, “The Atlantic is owned by Steve Jobs’ widow. It functions as kind of a modern social register, a place for the ruling class to talk to itself.”
As alluded to above, the subtext in Williams’ claims, and as reflected throughout the Trump-obsessed corporate media, seems to be that establishment liberals are very worried that MAGA-style, pro-voting-integrity Republicans will win a majority in Congress in 2022 at the ballot box, i.e., in what might be perhaps described as a completely peaceful constitutional protest. Plus, Trump could possibly gain a second presidential term two years later.
Leftist institutions may be even laying the groundwork to cast doubt on the 2022 outcome, let alone 2024, in which Republicans are currently favored, even though raising questions about 2020 is deemed by Williams and others to be unacceptable.
Instapundit’s Glenn Reynolds often refers to contemporary reporters as “Democrat operatives with bylines.”
“Now over a year removed from the 2020 presidential election, as President Joe Biden’s poll numbers plummet and frantic Democrats gird themselves for a 2022 midterm election shellacking, data continues to trickle in supporting the emergence of a ‘Somewhere’-centric, multiethnic, working-class Republican coalition,” Newsweek claimed.
Williams also approvingly made reference to a comment reportedly made at an event by U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Tex.), who accused some House Freedom Caucus members of being “grifters.”
Readers can review Williams’ essay and draw their own conclusions. However, it is one of many examples of how the left in America, including the Beltway establishment, has reached peak projection.
That is, democracy underminers pretend to protect democracy, conspiracy mongers condemn conspiracy theories, extremists smear others as too extreme, authoritarians lament authoritarianism, misinformers complain about misinformation, censors masquerade as free-speech advocates, includers engage in exclusion, political cultists accuse others of cult membership, bullies bemoan bullying, and the list goes on.
Earlier this month, conservative influencer Jesse Kelly told Carlson that “the media in this country hates the country. You have to make the country hateable to get everyone else to hate the country….”
Here is some of the social media reaction to Juan Williams’ column:
How can the GOP be an anti-American party while protecting America’s constitution and founding principles?
And how can the Democrats be the standard bearers of Americanism while destroying the first amendments of the Constitution?

@TheJuanWilliams is such a joke. This entire article is some fanciful James Patterson novel that the liberals have concocted in their heads.
The economy is perfect, Biden is an amazing president, and all Republicans are evil.

How is this even possible? One immediately knows which party embraces the flag, patriotism, rule of law, integrity of the ballot, and so many other things. Williams isn’t even close to truth on this statement that he knows is a lie. Wow.

🤣 thats funny. The only political group actually attacking the constitution and actually Anti American would be the progressives but hey, say it’s Republicans who stand most to the constitution than any other group. Tell me again whose anti American?

I like Juan but he is not a journalist he is part of the democratic party propaganda machine so I take statements like this from him accordingly.
