Another CNN staff member is in deep legal trouble and this one worked closely with disgraced former anchor Chris Cuomo.
Veteran producer John Gifford was arrested last week on charges of allegedly luring young girls to his ski getaway in Vermont for lessons in submission and “sexual training.”
Typical of the liberals at CNN, an old tweet exposed just how hypocritical Gifford is. Dated April 19, 2010, the CNN producer was commenting on four separate stories about people abusing children, adding: “If we’re society’s mirror, you people suck.”

Griffin, from Stamford, CT, was arrested by the FBI on Friday on three counts of “using a facility of interstate commerce” to lure minors and people who claimed to be their parents to train them to be sexually subservient, according to a statement from the Vermont U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The CNN producer allegedly used messaging apps to befriend and persuade moms of young girls, telling them “a woman is a woman regardless of her age,” and that he should be the one to “train” their daughters sexually, according to Vermont’s top-ranking federal law enforcement official. In the indictment, prosecutors also alleged that a 9-year-old girl engaged in “unlawful sexual activity” at Griffin’s Massachusetts home, according to the news release.

U.S. attorneys also charge that Griffin, who has been with the network for eight years, purportedly kept an online profile with a “BDSM dating, Fetish, and Kink Site” for several years. In July 2020, he announced on the site that he was seeking “sexually submissive” and “open-minded” women. The indictment charges Griffin with trying to persuade parents to “allow him to train their minor daughters to be sexually subservient.”
Prosecutors charge that the prurient producer was apparently successful in getting at least one mother to bring her two daughters to his ski getaway back in June 2020. Griffin allegedly paid $3,000 to fly the woman and her 9-year-old child to Boston. He picked them up and brought them to his house, where the indictment says “the child was directed to engage in and did engage in illegal sexual activity,” the indictment said.
Griffin, himself the father of a young girl, allegedly told the mother that it was her “responsibility” to see that her 13-year-old daughter was also “trained properly,” the charge sheet reads.

The indictment also includes specific allegations that Griffin attempted to entice two other children over the internet to engage in sexual activity. In April of 2020, Griffin proposed to engage in a “virtual training session” over a video chat that would include him instructing the mother and her 14-year-old daughter to remove their clothing and touch each other at his direction. In June of 2020, Griffin proposed to a purported mother of a 16-year-old daughter that she take a “little mother-daughter trip” to Griffin’s Ludlow ski house for sexual training involving the child.
In a statement posted Friday, the FBI wrote: “The allegations are deeply disturbing, and our office is committed to working with our partners at the United States Attorney’s Office District of Vermont to ensure Mr. Griffin is held accountable for his actions. The FBI, along with our law enforcement partners, will continue to aggressively investigate those who victimize the most vulnerable in our communities.”

On Griffin’s LinkedIn page, he writes of working “shoulder-to-shoulder” with disgraced CNN anchor Chris Cuomo since April 2013, “seeing him through each show and producing live breaking news across the country and around the world,” according to People. Cuomo was fired from CNN on Dec. 4 after it it was determined he had helped his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, respond to accusations of sexual harassment.
“The charges against Mr. Griffin are deeply disturbing. We only learned of his arrest yesterday afternoon and have suspended him pending investigation,” CNN told People in a statement on Saturday.
The FBI news release says that, if convicted of the charges, Griffin could face anywhere from 10 years in prison to a life sentence for each count.
