Fox News host Tucker Carlson continued to denounce Republicans who, he claims, are pushing President Joe Biden toward a “hot war” with Russia. Carlson spared no criticism, especially for the rhetoric that he says Republicans are pushing on Fox News programs.

Carlson berated GOP senators Joni Ernst (IA) and Roger Wicker (MS) on Tuesday for fanning war flames by castigating Russia’s actions on the Ukrainian border. Wednesday night, Carlson spoke with former Hawaii Democratic Sen. Tulsi Gabbard, who serves as a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army Reserve. The host brought up Wicker’s recent comments about putting boots on the ground in Ukraine — or even launching a nuclear strike against Russian troops.

“Anyone who would propose or even consider what he is saying as an option must be insane, a sociopath or a sadist,” Gabbard said of Wicker’s remarks.

“Let’s go and launch a nuclear attack that would start a war that would destroy the American people, our country and the world and oh, also, the Ukrainians so that we can save Ukraine’s democracy? I mean, it literally is insane,” Gabbard said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Wednesday.

“And the crazy thing is, Senator Wicker is not an outlier,” she added. “You are hearing the same kind of rhetoric coming from Democrats and Republicans in Congress and the administration and in the media no problem with this because they actually agree with this. They are pushing this same narrative themselves.”

Carlson and Gabbard both agreed that Putin’s actions in Ukraine do not represent a “core American interest.” Gabbard warned the situation is very, very dangerous as the rhetoric in Washington is pushing the nation ever closer to armed conflict that “directly puts the American people, our country, and the world at risk.”

Carlson leveled his harsh criticism of Biden’s inept leadership and the GOP’s disconnect from the growing dangers of the situation earlier in the segment.

“Republicans are doing nothing to stop this,” he said.

“In fact, they’re egging the weak and incompetent president on to do more. ‘Oh, Biden is weak. He’s not standing up against Vladimir!’ You’re hearing that constantly, including on this channel from Republicans. And the rhetoric is getting hotter and crazier and more disconnected from reality,” he contended.

“It’s almost impossible to believe, but we actually are moving closer to a hot war with Russia,” Carlson said. “Now, the people driving this are incompetent. They have a decades-long record of incompetence. They have no fine motor skills whatsoever. So, once this begins to happen, they will not have control over the outcome. You could wake up one morning and it’s 1914,” he said, referencing the year World War I began.

Citing a CNN report that the Pentagon is preparing contingency plans to evacuate U.S. diplomats and other Americans in eastern Ukraine, Carlson said the administration’s actions seem to indicate “that’s where we’re moving.”

“First-use nuclear weapons, troops on the ground,” Carlson said. “Over eastern Ukraine? Is the fate of eastern Ukraine tied to some heretofore unknown core American interest that somehow we’re just not aware of. Is that in the Constitution?”
