Former Trump administration official turned radio show host Sebastian Gorka has predicted that former President Donald Trump won’t run for reelection in 2024 unless congressional Republicans recapture BOTH the House and Senate in 2022.

Why? Because if Democrats retain even the slightest degree of power in Congress, chances are the former president will face yet another impeachment.

But assuming all goes as planned, Gorka’s 99.9 percent confident that Trump will indeed run for reelection. Speaking on GB News last week, he admitted that he’d originally given it a 95 percent chance but changed his mind after meeting up with Trump.

“I saw the president recently in New York. Before I went to see him, I told everybody on my radio show I give it a 95 [percent] chance that he’s running. After I went to see him, I said 99.9 [percent],” he said.

“There’s only one thing that will stop him — if we don’t crush the Democrats in the midterm elections next year, because he can’t be at the mercy of impeachment again. He has to have the House and the Senate behind him.”

The good news, he added, is that the last 11 months of the Biden administration have been so “disastrous” that “we WILL take the Senate, we will take the House.”

And then, he continued, “as far as I am concerned, my old boss is going to stroll back into the West Wing.”

Listen:

The key, Gorka went on, is for the Biden administration to remain on the same downward trajectory for the next year straight.

“This administration has allowed two million illegal immigrants to cross the border since the inauguration of Joe Biden. Petrol prices are skyrocketing. We have the highest inflation, six percent, since the 1990s. The administration is under water,” he said.

“The first time ever we’ve seen a president in less than one calendar year hit the low 40 percent in popularity and approval ratings as his vice president, the cackling Kamala, is in the 20 percentile of popularity for her job approval. So look, we have to maintain that for the next year.”

But it doesn’t help when congressional Republicans help Democrats score victories, such as they did when they voted last month to pass the so-called bipartisan infrastructure deal.

The stunning vote provoked massive outrage at the time:

If Republicans keep doing this, the Democrats’ approval numbers could conceivably rise high enough for them to maintain some or all control in Congress.

As a reminder of why this can’t be allowed to happen, Gorka urged the public to remember how “deranged” Democrats have been.

“Just a little reminder. Not only did they try to impeach him and fail to prosecute him on one trumped-up, spurious Russia allegation, they tried to impeach him then after he left office. I mean, this is the insanity. They tried to remove the president of the United States after he left the White House,” he said.

This is why it’s fundamental that Democrats lose power. Trump’s “got to have four years of unfettered swamp draining,” according to Gorka.

In case Republicans do retake Congress and Trump therefore runs again, Gorka is equally confident he’ll win whether he goes up against President Biden, whom many suspect won’t run for reelection, or Vice President Kamala Harris.

He’s especially confident over the prospect of Trump going toe to toe against Harris and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. Some in the left have argued that a Harris/Buttigieg ticket would be perfect. This argument left Gorka laughing.

“You got to laugh, because all it indicates is that these people are in an ironclad, Kevlar-coated bubble. They have no idea what the average American thinks of these people,” he said.

“That we have one person, the cackler, who cannot give a straight answer without nervous giggles. And then you have the guy … who’s the secretary of transportation, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and he disappears for a three month paternity leave.”

It’s not clear who Trump himself is hoping to run against.
