Thanks to thirteen House Republicans siding with Democrats and so-called “progressive” Democrats caving to the “moderates,” the ostensibly “bipartisan” $1.2 trillion infrastructure deal is now headed to President Joe Biden’s desk.
Shortly before midnight Friday, 228 House members voted in favor of the Senate bill, overriding the 206 opponents — 200 Republicans and six Democrats — who voted against it.
Had not thirteen Republicans voted for the bill, it wouldn’t have passed, as the final roll call would’ve instead been 215 in favor versus 219 in opposition.
Because of the bill’s inclusion of a myriad of policies that Republicans have claimed have nothing whatsoever to do with infrastructure, it’s faced staunch opposition from the GOP.
Likewise, the Republicans who voted for the bill, thus helping bring it to the president’s desk, now face a torrent of backlash from their colleagues — particularly the most genuinely conservative ones like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
These are the 13 “Republicans” who handed over their voting cards to Nancy Pelosi to pass Joe Biden’s Communist takeover of America via so-called infrastructure:

RINOS just passed this wasteful $1.2 trillion dollar “infrastructure” bill.
Pelosi did not have the votes in her party to pass this garbage.
Time to name names and hold these fake republicans accountable.

I can’t believe Republicans just gave the Democrats their socialism bill.

Republicans who voted for the Democrats’ socialist spending bill are the very reason why Americans don’t trust Congress.

Some of the Republicans who voted for the bill fired back by mocking their conservative colleagues for their concerns.
“Infrastructure=communism is a new one. Eisenhower’s interstate system should be torn up or else the commies will be able to conveniently drive! Red Dawn in real life,” outgoing Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a fierce Trump opponent, tweeted.

His words suggest he’s never actually read the bill.
According to analysis by the Club for Growth, the bill directs only $110 billion into actual infrastructure. The rest will be set aside for, as examples, fixing the “racism physically built into some of our highways” and “enhancing equity.”
The bipartisan infrastructure proposal floating around the Senate is essentially a Green New Deal Lite.

In a speech on the House floor delivered about an hour before the vote, House Minority Whip Steve Scalise asserted that the bill also funds “mass amnesty, 87,000 new IRS agents, insane leftist mandates, giveaways to union bosses” and a “natural gas tax that’ll raise energy costs.”
Like Greene, whom Kinzinger had sought to mock, he too argued it amounts to “a socialist takeover of America.”
Watch:
In this bill Dems are trying to ram through:
– Mass amnesty
– 87,000 new IRS agents
– Insane leftist mandates
– Giveaways to union bosses
– Natural gas tax that’ll raise energy costsIt’s a socialist takeover of America.
No wonder they’re doing it in the dark of night. pic.twitter.com/bvZ4v4BJ23

About an hour after the bill’s passage, the president released a celebratory statement claiming that America just “took a monumental step forward as a nation.”
He further claimed that the bill “will create millions of jobs, turn the climate crisis into an opportunity, and put us on a path to win the economic competition for the 21st Century.”

The Heritage Foundation has claimed otherwise.
In a report filed three months ago, the 48-year-old think tank predicted that all the “wasteful spending” in the “infrastructure-in-name-only package” will only exacerbate the current inflation crisis.
Former President Donald Trump also responded Friday evening, albeit with a completely different — and rather Trumpian — strategy.
Just prior to the bill’s passage, he issued a statement mocking “progressive” Democrats for caving to the “moderates” in the party.
For weeks the “progressives” have been threatening to vote against the bill unless the president’s wider Build Back Agenda was also voted on at the same time.
But by Friday evening, they were already starting to crumble under pressure, and it appears the former president had sought to try and inspire them to not back down so easily.
“So interesting to watch the so-called Democrat ‘Progressives’ being lied to and played by the Democrat Moderates. It used to be the other way around. Let’s see if the Progressives fold, and how long it will take them to do so?” he said.
NEW!

The statement was issued at about 9:30 pm, and so it appears it took only about two hours for the so-called “progressives” to cave. Sad …
