Fresh off of promoting a conspiracy theory about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis establishing his own secret police because he’s a fascist, MSNBC host Joy Reid doubled down on crazy late Friday by accusing the GOP of being a “death cult.”
Her evidence consisted of the mere fact that the Republican Party disagrees with the preferred policies of the Democrat Party, particularly in regard to abortion.
Reid was angry over a Mississippi abortion law that’s currently being litigated in the Supreme Court. The law simply bans most abortions after 15 weeks.
According to Pampers, at 15 weeks a baby is “becoming more active” by “moving, turning, and rolling around in the amniotic sac.”
Because of how much development has already occurred by this stage in pregnancy, Republicans like Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves staunchly support the 15-week ban:
At 15 weeks old, a preborn child can yawn, hiccup & stretch. All their limbs & internal organs are formed. They have fingernails & can suck their thumb.
These children deserve to live. They deserve the same basic rights that you and I have. Our laws must protect them.#ProLife

Nancy Pelosi needs to follow the science.
As early as 5 weeks unborn babies in the womb have a heartbeat.
By 10 weeks babies have arms and legs, fingers and toes.
At 15 weeks, babies have fully developed hearts. https://t.co/m3AenaR8ks

By 15 weeks, an unborn baby’s heart has already beat 15,000,000 times. It’s hard to argue that that is not a human being who deserves to be protected. – @SenJohnThune pic.twitter.com/cFmWVWUjq5

But according to Reid, this makes the Republican Party a pro-death party.
Likewise, the Republican Party’s ability to pass legislation like the law in Missippi proves that the United States is now “the new Gilead.” Gilead is a totalitarian patriarchal theocracy in the Democrat-beloved novel “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
“Welcome to the new Gilead right here in the United States of America. Women are not welcome here. Correction, women who do not exist solely as vessels for a fetus are not welcome here,” Reid said during a segment on her MSNBC show Friday.
“Which is why the U.S Supreme Court heard arguments Wednesday about reversing a nearly 50-year precedent on abortion rights — something the Republicans have been thirsty for since their modern movement to ban abortions began,” she added.
While Reid tried to portray the legislation as radical, the fact remains that the United States already boasts the most liberal abortion laws on Earth.
Roberts was correct to say U.S. abortion policy is extreme compared to the rest of the world. We are one of only seven countries to allow abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Nearly all European countries limit abortion to 12 or, at most, 15 weeks.

She continued by suggesting that Republicans hate black people because, apparently, she couldn’t resist playing the race card again for the millionth time.
“Republicans love to say that they’re pro-life, but the more accurate term is that they’re pro-birth. Because once that baby is born, they stop caring, and depending on the color of your skin, they may not even see you as fully human,” she said.
She added that if Republicans truly cared about children, they’d support the Democrat Party’s agenda.
“If they did care about children after they’re born, they would be supporting universal health care, social services food for kids whose families can’t afford it, fully funding education and gun reform so kids don’t have to do mass shooter drills at school,” she said.
“They would support the Build Back Better agenda which invests in housing and the environment and acts as the biggest expansion of affordable health care in a decade. Alas, not one Republican voted for that bill,” Reid continued.
Republicans oppose the Democrat Party’s agenda because they believe the agenda would harm Americans. And indeed, current Democrat President Joe Biden’s agenda has harmed America by spiking gas prices and inflation.
And even left-wing “fact-checkers” have admitted the Build Back Better plan is likely to increase inflation.
Nevertheless, because Republicans view the world differently, they must be a “pro-death cult,” according to Reid.
“Pro-life? Really? The more appropriate slogan in my humble opinion is anti-choice, as the same party passes regressive policies that harm women, children and families by taking choices away from them. Or maybe it’s pro-death, as this party does nothing about kids getting massacred in classrooms, while siding with a virus that mutates and has killed nearly 800 000 Americans, many of them children,” she said.
“You don’t get to be a death cult while waving the pro-life flag, especially when the flag was never about abortion to begin with. It was only about orchestrating a rallying cry to politicize Evangelicals which is why the pro-life lie by a death cult party is the absolute worst,” Reid concluded.
Critics responded by pointing out the one inconvenient fact that Reid was ignoring, which is that abortion — which is what she supports — centers on killing babies, i.e. it centers on more death ..
So the Republicans are the death cult but you believe in Abortion the killing of innocent babies and mainly black children.Sick.🤷🏽♀️
