When Democrats’ political theatrics aimed at derailing the Supreme Court Justice nomination of Brett Kavanaugh didn’t work in 2018, they decided to try again in 2021, claiming that the FBI failed to investigate 4,500 tips on the Justice– a point that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is trying to use to dismantle Kavanaugh’s credibility in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.
Ocasio-Cortez tweeted Wednesday that Kavanaugh should recuse himself from the abortion case because he remains “credibly accused” of numerous instances of sexual assault.
“Reminder that Brett Kavanaugh *still* remains credibly accused of sexual assault on multiple accounts w/ corroborated details & this year the FBI admitted it never fully investigated. Yet the court is letting him decide on whether to legalize forced birth in the US. No recusal,” the congresswoman wrote.

The myriad of problems with AOC’s argument begins with one simple fact: Kavanaugh was effectively cleared of the sexual assault charges against him during a thorough confirmation process.
The fact that none of the charges against him could be credibly corroborated also must be accounted for.
While there aren’t any details on the 4,500 so-called “tips” gathered by the FBI, the likelihood that they were left by women angry over the possibility of Roe being overturned cannot be dismissed.
Ocasio-Cortez, however, is not the only delusional Democrat hoping to make hay of these “tips.” In March of this year, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse called on Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate what he called the “fake” vetting of Kavanaugh.

Twitter users took time to hit back at the congresswoman’s ridiculous assertions, calling them nothing more than a smear campaign.
“There were 0 credible allegations, zero corroboration & FBI review of most prominent uncorroborated claim found Kavanaugh opponents pressured alleged witness to change her story to hurt Kavanaugh. That accuser’s lawyer later admitted abortion politics influenced their decisions,” Fox News contributor Guy Benson wrote.
