CNN’s Chris Cuomo has been indefinitely suspended by the network in the aftermath of stunning documents released by the New York Attorney General’s Office showing that he used his position to help his brother during the period when he was embroiled in the sexual misconduct scandals that ultimately brought him down.

Once the media’s golden boy for his management of the COVID crisis, former Governor Andrew Cuomo was forced to resign after his alleged abuse of female subordinates resulted in a probe by the office of AG Letitia James as well as a looming impeachment, and now it appears that he has dragged down his little brother as well.

According to the material released by James’ office, the CNN anchor who has established himself as a hot-tempered bully, worked to use his sources to dig up information on his brother’s accusers in a blatant disregard of journalistic ethics and apparently the proverbial straw the broke the camel’s back for a man who has been plagued by his own sexual harassment scandal.

On Tuesday, the self-proclaimed “most trusted name in news” announced the suspension.

“The New York Attorney General’s office released transcripts and exhibits Monday that shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense,” according to a network spokesperson. “The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions.”

“When Chris admitted to us that he had offered advice to his brother’s staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly,” the spokesperson continued. “But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second,” the network added. “However, these documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew. As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation.”

Members of CNN’s dwindling primetime audience were informed of Cuomo’s benching by Anderson Cooper who has benefited from his colleague’s absence by having his own show expanded to at least temporarily fill his spot with a second hour of “AC360.”

Flanked by Zoom masturbator Jeffrey Toobin and Watergate squealer John Dean, Cooper said that “new documents released this week indicated that Chris was more intimately involved than previously known in helping his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, craft a defense in a flurry of sexual misconduct allegations,” going on to read the network’s statement.

The reaction to the news drew many responses on social media, including from former President Donald J. Trump who issued a statement cheering CNN’s decision to pull the plug on one of its stars and reveling in the fact that “Fredo is gone,” a reference to the derisive name that has stuck to Cuomo like glue.

“Great news for television viewers, they have just suspended Chris Cuomo indefinitely! The big question is, was it because of his horrendous ratings, which in all fairness have permeated CNN and MSDNC, or was it because his brother is no longer Governor? Probably both. In any event, Fredo is gone!” wrote the former and perhaps future POTUS.

Others will likely take much delight in Cuomo’s downfall but in the end, he has nobody to blame but himself.
