The death of an Oakland security guard who was shot while trying to stop a thug from robbing a local news station reporter has reignited anger against the left-wing elitists who continue to downplay crime and its effect on working class communities.

Kevin Nishita, a security guard with the Star Protection Agency, was providing security last Wednesday as a local news station KRON reporter was reporting on the recent hash of flash mob robberies in the area when they themselves became the latest victims.

“At 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, an assailant attempted to steal KRON4’s camera equipment. … The armed guard [Nishita] was shot in the lower abdomen. The reporter was not physically injured,” KRON reported.

“The guard was rushed to Highland Hospital Wednesday afternoon in critical condition before undergoing surgery. A Berkeley man standing nearby was hit by bullet shrapnel, Oakland police said. He was treated at a hospital and listed in stable condition.”

Nishita died three days later, leaving behind a wife, two children and three grandchildren.

His death provoked an outpouring of grief, horror and sadness from his colleagues both in the news industry and the law enforcement community.

Here’s a small sample of that:

But his death also provoked anger at the liberal elitists who’ve sought to downplay the recent hash of robberies and thuggery occurring in California.

Elitists like Hollywood liberal Seth Rogen, who last week mocked a YouTube influencer for complaining about the crime specifically in Los Angeles.

The influencer, Casey Neistat, complained in a tweet posted last Wednesday morning — the same day that Nishkin was shot — that his family’s “cars got robbed this morning because Los Angeles is a crime riddled 3rd world shithole.”

Rogen responded by calling him crazy, describing Los Angeles as “lovely” and suggesting that dealing with robberies is part and parcel of “living in a big city.”

He added that he feels there’s no point to getting angry over being robbed.

“You can be mad but I guess I don’t personally view my car as an extension of myself and I’ve never really felt violated any of the 15 or so times my car was broken in to. Once a guy accidentally left a cool knife in my car so if it keeps happening you might get a little treat,” he wrote.

Note that Rogen is worth an estimated $80 million.

His flippant dismissal of crime triggered widespread backlash, prompting him to double down by posting a nasty tweet mocking his critics.

Look (*Language warning):

Following Nishita’s tragic death, the number and ferocity of his critics grew by leaps and bounds, with some attributing the nationwide uptick in crime on the normalization of criminals by the likes of him and other left-wing elitists. *Caution: Adult Language.

Look:

Note how the latter user urged Rogen to at least “take 2 seconds out to tweet something” about the robbery and killing in Oakland.

But no, Rogen hasn’t tweeted anything about it. Nor has he tweeted anything about the Waukesha rampage that left six people, including a child, dead.

The only “victims” he appears to care about are the ones like the three criminals — one a convicted child molester, the other a known woman beater — whom Kyle Rittenhouse shot during the Kenosha riots in 2020 in self-defense:

As for Nishita, as for 11-year-old Jessalyn Torres and as for the countless other everyday Americans who have suffered because of the criminals he routinely defends, he doesn’t seem to care …
