Fmr. aide denies sightings of her ‘making out’ with former governor, claims she’s being ‘extorted’

Melissa DeRosa, who is a former aide to disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, is heatedly denying a report that alleges she was seen “making out” with him and asserts that she is being extorted by the New York state trooper who made the claim.

“As a young woman who has worked at the highest levels of government and politics, I’m used to people making up and spreading rumors about me,” DeRosa, 39, tweeted Friday. “However, it is absolutely beyond the pale for this trooper, who by her own admission I barely knew – who has already attempted to extort me for money – to make these accusations based on false rumors and for them to be printed in a newspaper. Not only is this ludicrous, it’s hurtful, and potentially actionable.”

A state police bodyguard testified that she heard about DeRosa and Cuomo “making out on the sidewalk like high schoolers,” according to the New York Post. DeRosa has been married for five years.

“Roughly 1 month ago, trooper #1’s lawyer emailed to say she would sue me if I didn’t pay her off privately — this despite the fact that she said we only ever said ‘hi’ and ‘goodbye’ I refused to pay her,” DeRosa stated. “Now, this.”

The state trooper never specifically mentioned DeRosa in her testimony. She is one of 11 women who accused the governor of sexual misconduct. Her attorney is publicly stating that DeRosa’s extortion claim is patently false.

The trooper reportedly told authorities that she did not see the two making out, but instead heard about it from other people. She said, “I think everyone kind of like assumes or thinks that there’s something going on between them.”

“I had heard from Senior Investigator #1 that once he witnessed the Governor and Senior Staffer #1 like making out on the sidewalk like they were high schoolers … again, he told me this. I didn’t witness this. I wasn’t even here at the time. But that’s what I had heard,” the trooper’s sworn testimony states.

When asked by attorney Anne Clark if she’d heard “anything else,” the trooper noted, “I heard a rumor that before Senior Staffer #1 [redacted] that the Governor and her were in a hotel room by themselves for like an hour. And then one of the two left the room.”

“I had also heard that — again, rumor — I heard that there was a guy named [redacted] here. I don’t know how to spell his last name,” the trooper testified. “But he was driving once and saw Senior Staffer #1 and the Governor like making out. He [Cuomo] was in the front seat. And Senior Staffer #1 was like sitting on the console kissing him.”

The former top Cuomo aide and her husband are reportedly in the process of getting a divorce. A source told the New York Post that, “They simply grew apart, and they have been living apart for a year.”

Cuomo has been single since 2019. He answered in a July interview when asked if he had ever kissed “Senior Staffer #1” on the lips that he didn’t “recall” doing so but it “may have” happened.

“Am I Senior Staffer #1? I have no idea — you’d have to ask the AG’s office, but the things this person says is flat-out false,” DeRosa remarked.

“The fact that Tish James included these completely false bottom-of-the-barrel rumors in her selectively released, partially redacted transcripts says more about her character and motivations than anything else,” Cuomo spokesperson Rich Azzopardi asserted. He called the report a “hit job.” It was released by Attorney General Letitia James earlier this week.

“Multiple people have testified under oath that the Governor did not have a romantic relationship with any staffer and the AG’s continued weaponization of this report for her own political gain is even more evidence of prosecutorial misconduct,” he added.

Cuomo, unbelievably, is reportedly considering running once again for attorney general of New York, according to the New York Post.

Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean was sickened by the revelation, but not surprised, “Worst kept secret in New York. Barf. Ex-Gov. Cuomo, married aide DeRosa allegedly caught ‘making out’: trooper.”
