U.S. Marine Corps ‘dominated’ by British commandos in Mojave training exercise: report

British commandos have reportedly dominated their U.S counterparts during a training exercise in California, and it wasn’t even close, according to The Telegraph, necessitating a purported “reset” and a surrender.

The “Green Dagger” war games between the elite Royal Marines and the allegedly underperforming U.S. Marine Corps units took place at the Twentynine Palms military base in the Mojave Desert over a five-day period.

The results may or may not call into question the state of military readiness of America’s increasingly woke (at least at certain leadership levels) Armed Forces under the Biden administration.

“The exercise is designed to test US Marine Corps units prior to them being deployed overseas,” the London Telegraph explained about the simulated conflict that includes participation by military forces from around the world.

The Telegraph outlined what happened on the ground, at least as the new outlet sees it, when the two groups got together for helmet-to-helmet competition, as well as highlighting the event in a lengthy Twitter thread.

Royal Marines have forced US troops to surrender just days into a training exercise after eliminating almost the entire unit. The British commandos “dominated” US forces during a training exercise in California, using a new battle structure.

The Telegraph understands the US forces asked for a “reset” half way into the five-day war fighting exercise, having suffered significant simulated casualties.

At one point in the battle, the commandos’ “kill board”, an intelligence assessment of the level of damage inflicted upon enemy equipment and units, had a tick against almost every American asset, indicating it had been deemed destroyed or rendered inoperable.

 

“The Royal Marines’ success was achieved by targeting the US headquarters and valuable equipment, paralyzing counter-attacks from the Americans,” the U.K. news outlet added.

“The exercise concluded with a last minute US assault which was repelled, leaving the Royal Marines in control of over 65 per cent of the entire area, having started with less than 20 per cent,” the Telegraph reported.

“Throughout this deployment our focus has been on integrating game-changing capabilities from across the commando force to deliver disproportionate effect in the face of a free-thinking peer adversary,” the British commander, Lt. Col. Andy Dow, asserted.

The simulated battlespace covered about 1,300 square miles of terrain.
