‘MAGA bigger, stronger than ever’: Trump thanks his base for Virginia win, says Youngkin will be ‘a great governor’

Ex-President Donald Trump is not tired of winning, and as such, he is giving his supporters, and indirectly himself, credit for Republican Glenn Youngkin’s historic Virginia gubernatorial victory.

Trump endorsed Youngkin but there were no joint campaign appearances in the run-up to the voting. Given the possibility of a grandiose or abrasive remark by POTUS 45 combined with the way the corporate media tends to spin things in the most negative way possible, there was perhaps a behind-the-scenes agreement of some kind between the two camps to socially distance.

Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump in the Old Dominion state by 10 points in Election 2020, so direct involvement by Trump may not have been perceived as a value-add.

Although Trump is still banned on social media, conservative luminaries such as Liz Harrington regularly share his press releases from the Save America PAC.

“I would like to thank my BASE for coming out in force and voting for Glenn Youngkin. Without you, he would not have been close to winning. The MAGA movement is bigger and stronger than ever before,” POTUS 45 declared on Tuesday evening. “Glenn will be a great governor. Thank you to the people of the Commonwealth of Virginia and most particularly to our incredible MAGA voters!”

With the self-esteem that he is known for, Trump followed up by implying that he was living rent-free in loser Terry McAuliffe’s head, which didn’t work out so well for the Clinton crony.

Even a Never-Trumper like Meghan McCain described the Democrat Trump obsession as a failed strategy.

A metaphorical eviction might have better served McAuliffe’s campaign.

“It is looking like Terry McAuliffe’s campaign against a certain person named ‘Trump’ has very much helped Glenn Youngkin. All McAuliffe did was talk Trump, Trump, Trump and he lost! What does that tell you, Fake News? I guess people running for office as Democrats won’t be doing that too much longer. I didn’t even have to go rally for Youngkin, because McAuliffe did it for me. Thank you to the MAGA voters for turning out big!,” the former president declared.

“Trump endorsed Youngkin, who at the time said he was ‘honored’ to have been endorsed by the former president, though the Republican businessman campaigned largely on local issues such as education and lowering taxes,” The Hill explained.

Youngkin’s campaign seem to gain particular momentum after teachers’ union fanboy McAuliffe said during a debate that “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” Loudon County, Va., in particular, has become an epicenter for grassroots parental protests against divisive critical race theory and other controversial, far-left policies that school boards seek to impose.

Youngkin has vowed to ban CRT and he opposes COVID vaccine mandates although he is pro-vaccine.

Election results suggest that the GOP is projected to take control of the 100-member Virginia House of Delegates with a 51-49 majority, which should give a boost to Youngkin’s legislative agenda.

Earlier in the evening, Twitter blew up when Fairfax County, Va., officials announced that they had to rescan about 20,000 ballots. Those rooting for Youngkin started to wonder if some Atlanta or Philadelphia-style shenanigans were in play.

“Early indications are that MAGA voters are turning out big for Glenn Youngkin, let’s see what happens. All eyes are on Fairfax, why the delay?,” Trump wondered at the time.

The process was completed in Fairfax with GOP observers reportedly in attendance, however, and obviously, Youngkin went on to win, although the news networks took their time in calling the race.

According to Politico, Trump told Virginia-based radio host John Fredericks that “I’ve heard Virginia is blue but I’ve never believed it was blue…without MAGA he would have lost by 15 points, more…instead of giving us credit they say oh he’s more popular than [Trump].”
