Lincoln Project brags about moronic VA racist hoax, says they’re teaching Dems how to win

Things are getting ugly in Virginia with polls showing that Democrat Terry McAuliffe could be in big trouble only days away from the state’s gubernatorial election, and matters were likely made worse after a desperate attempt to perpetuate a racially-charged hoax spectacularly imploded.

Twitter users were immediately suspicious after images of a group of “white supremacists” with unlit tiki torches standing in front of Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin’s bus hit social media, an effort to link him to the infamous 2017 Charlottesville rally that was used by Democrats to falsely portray former President Donald J. Trump and his supporters as racists.

However, the hoax quickly began to unravel when it was discovered that the torchbearers were Democrat operatives and none other than the disgraced Lincoln Project was behind what was a disgusting and divisive photo-op staged with the intention of inflaming racial tensions in order to benefit politically, a cynical stunt that only served to further discredit the Beltway grifters who have cashed in on anti-Trump sentiment.

The image was posted to Twitter by an anchor for Charlottesville’s NBC affiliate and was seized upon by pro-McAuliffe influencers to smear Youngkin as a racist.

McAuliffe spokesperson Christina Freundlich tweeted “The Unite the Right rally was one of the darkest days in the Commonwealth’s history. this is who Glenn Youngkin’s supporters are,” a missive that has since been deleted, a capper on a very bad week for her after she sent out an email asking whether a story about her boss hiring a controversial, high-powered Democrat election lawyer could be killed.

After being caught red-handed, the Lincoln Project issued a press release seeking to put a positive spin on their scam.

“Glenn Youngkin has said: ‘President Trump represents so much of why I am running.’ Youngkin proves it every day by trying to divide Virginians using racial code words like Critical Race Theory and supporting a ban on teaching the works of America’s only Black Nobel laureate,” a defense of the poisonous anti-white, anti-American curriculum that is being used to indoctrinate children in classrooms.

“The Lincoln Project has run advertisements highlighting the hate unleashed in Charlottesville as well as Glenn Youngkin’s continued failure to denounce Donald Trump’s ‘very fine people on both sides.’ We will continue to draw this contrast in broadcast videos, on our social media platforms, and at Youngkin rallies,” the group wrote.“Today’s demonstration was our way of reminding Virginians what happened in Charlottesville four years ago, the Republican Party’s embrace of those values, and Glenn Youngkin’s failure to condemn it.

“The Youngkin campaign is enraged by our reminder of Charlottesville for one simple reason: Glenn Youngkin wants Virginians to forget that he is Donald Trump’s candidate,” the statement said. “We will continue to hold Glenn Youngkin accountable. If he will denounce Trump’s assertion that the Charlottesville rioters possessed ‘very fine’ qualities, we’ll withdraw the tiki torches. Until then, we’ll be back.”

Stuart Stevens of the Lincoln Project appeared on CNN where he defended the stunt to Chris Cuomo by invoking the debunked very fine people “on both sides” hoax that was used for years to smear Trump, asking why Youngkin has not denounced the ex-POTUS.

Despite the damage control, the group whose name has already been tarnished over a sexual abuse scandal involving one of its co-founders – a depraved predator who allegedly groomed young males for sex – was brutally scourged on Twitter.

Those who sought to promote the Lincoln Project’s hoax were also dragged.

Whether the Lincoln Project dumpster fire will influence the Commonwealth’s election remains to be seen but it’s probably reasonably safe to say that McAuliffe’s allies aren’t out of dirty tricks that they will deploy over the coming days to foment racial hysteria.
