Rolling Stone published a hit piece on Sunday claiming that a number of Jan. 6 organizers engaged in meetings with Republican members of Congress as well as White House staffers and were allegedly promised pardons by Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ).
The report states that at least two of former President Trump’s supporters are working with the Jan. 6 House Select Committee. The piece is based on two anonymous sources speaking to author Hunter Walker. The magazine claims they have confirmed a third unnamed person who helped plan the rallies and is now cooperating with the investigation.
There has been no solid evidence verifying the media outlet’s claims but the mainstream media is running with the story nonetheless.
To differentiate between his sources, Walker referred to them as a rally “organizer” and a “planner.” He claims that both of them were involved in helping to plan and coordinate the “Stop the Steal” protests across the nation.
“I remember Marjorie Taylor Greene specifically,” the organizer reportedly stated. “I remember talking to probably close to a dozen other members at one point or another or their staffs.”
“We would talk to Boebert’s team, Cawthorn’s team, Gosar’s team like back to back to back to back,” the organizer claimed.
The sources mentioned Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX).
Rolling Stone is further claiming that Gosar offered the possibility of a “blanket pardon” to the sources to show “how much we appreciate all the hard work you’ve been doing.”
“Our impression was that it was a done deal,” the source asserted, “that he’d spoken to the president about it in the Oval … in a meeting about pardons and that our names came up. They were working on submitting the paperwork and getting members of the House Freedom Caucus to sign on as a show of support.”
The media outlet contends that Gosar’s chief of staff, Thomas van Flein, took part in multiple conversations concerning pardons and other issues in regard to the protests.
The alleged pardons never occurred. Walker claims his sources are “upset” that the pardons never came about.
Walker also alleged that “Stop the Steal” organizer Ali Alexander had claimed in a now-deleted video that he met with Gosar, Brooks, and Biggs. He claimed that they “came up with the Jan. 6 idea.” Walker asserts his sources confirmed that Alexander had met with the Republican members of Congress.
Both sources tagged Katrina Pierson, who was an advisor for Trump’s presidential campaigns, as a direct line between them and the White House. They described her as “our go-to-girl” and “our primary advocate.” Pierson spoke at the rally held on Jan. 6.
Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows was also implicated by the “sources.”
They said that “concerns were raised to Meadows about Alexander’s protest at the Capitol and the potential that it could spark violence.”
An alleged deal was reportedly struck for Alexander to not hold his “Wild Protest” at the Capitol on Jan. 6. He is said to have backed out of that deal. Alexander’s supposed ties to paramilitary groups were also brought up.
Senior Human Events Editor Jack Posobiec pointed out on Twitter, “Way down at the bottom of the ‘bombshell’ Rolling Stone article about Jan 6 they admit that all the evidence shows planners were talking about the vote in Congress and no one even discussed marching on the Capitol.”

Heading into Jan. 6, both sources say, the plan they had discussed with other organizers, Trump allies, and members of Congress was a rally that would solely take place at the Ellipse, where speakers – including the former president – would present “evidence” about issues with the election. This demonstration would take place in conjunction with objections that were being made by Trump allies during certification on the House floor that day.
“It was a variety of calls, some with Gosar and Gosar’s team, some with Marjorie Taylor Greene and her team … Mo Brooks,” the organizer says.
“The Capitol was never in play.”
Rolling Stone has been involved in numerous debunked reports in the past. In 2014, the outlet did an expose on a violent “rape” that took place at the University of Virginia. The story turned out to be untrue and the magazine retracted the story, according to NBC News. They also had to pay $1.65 million in a defamation lawsuit settlement to a campus fraternity.
Rolling Stone also ran with a local Oklahoma television segment in September that claimed that so many people were overdosing on ivermectin that rural hospitals were not able to prioritize gunshot victims. That story also proved to be untrue.

The MSM is certainly doing it’s best to keep this fake event in the news still. I have yet to meet anyone in real life who brings up January 6th as an important issue. Instead it’s inflation, gas prices, shortages, the pandemic, etc. NEVER about January 6th.
