The Biden administration has been accused of screwing parents over yet again.

The latest accusation comes from No Left Turn in Education (NLTE), a nonprofit group comprised of “common-sense parents, families and citizens from all walks of life” who “believe that K-12 education should be free from indoctrination and politicization.”

The group’s Virginia chapter has accused the administration of tying coronavirus relief money from the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund to whether or not school districts are forcing schoolchildren to mask up.

The chapter says this stipulation could deprive all parents — even ones in states where there are no school mask mandates — of the right to determine whether or not their children should be masked at school.

The Biden administration is “bypassing state and local education agencies by offering taxpayer money to guarantee compliance with universal masking through 2023 while allowing parents to believe that their voices would be heard and that they will be able to maintain parental authority when it comes the medical decisions for their children,” chapter leader Yael Levin told Fox News this week.

Levin said she discovered this while examining an application filed by the Virginia State government for coronavirus relief funds.

One section of the application requires the state educational agency (SEA) filling out the application, which in this case is the Virginia Department of Education, to explain in detail how it’ll support local educational agencies (LEAs) — basically school boards — “in safely returning to in-person instruction and sustaining the safe operation of schools.”

The section further stipulates — and this is key — that the plan must include the implementation of, “to the greatest extent practicable, prevention and mitigation policies in line with the most up-to-date guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (‘CDC’) for the reopening and operation of school facilities to effectively maintain the health and safety of students, educators, and other staff.”

Levin appears to believe that this stipulation means school districts that need coronavirus relief money must force schoolchildren to mask up.

It’s not clear that this is necessarily the case.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention simply “recommends universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status.”

A recommendation is not a mandate.

However, Levin stressed to Fox News that, knowing this administration, it could easily become a mandate.

“No Left Turn in Education is concerned by the CDCs constantly changing guidance over masks in K-12,” she said.

Consider, for instance, how the administration had vowed to never mandate vaccines. Yet the administration is currently in the process of implementing a vaccine mandate for all businesses with 100+ employees.

In addition, President Joe Biden has expressed interest in a mask mandate for school children.

There’s also mounting concern over the timeline. The application notes that the SEA must “ensure that the LEA periodically reviews, no less frequently than every six months for the duration of the ERP ESSER grant period (i.e., through September 30, 2023), and revises as appropriate, its plan.”

The underlying assumption appears to be that mask recommendations (and possible mandates), in addition to other COVID prevention methods, will be needed for nearly two additional years.

While Levin did not remark on this, the discovery has nevertheless triggered a backlash on social media.

Look:

Notice the prediction that the Biden administration never wants this “crisis” to end.

Indeed, the same day that Fox News dropped its report, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said during a briefing that she intends to continue recommend mask-wearing by schoolchildren even after their vaccines are authorized.

“So, right now is not the time, as cases are coming down, to become complacent because we do know colder weather is ahead of us and we need to do all that we can – including vaccinating those 66 million people who have not yet been vaccinated – all we can in our prevention measures and our vaccination efforts to make sure that we don’t become complacent during this period of time,” she said.

Apparently, she won’t be happy until everyone — literally everyone — is vaccinated. Though knowing this administration, that still won’t be enough.

Because no matter how much success the nation achieves against the coronavirus — whose waves have progressively weakened as more Americans have either been vaccinated or acquired natural community — the administration remains obsessed.

It appears their goal is to eradicate the virus completely — something most experts say is an impossibility given the virus’s spread among both humans and animals.
