The parents of fugitive Brian Laundrie, who is accused of murdering his fiance Gabby Petito, arrived at Florida’s Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park early Wednesday, where police believe they “might have found something.”
A coroner also reportedly arrived from the Sarasota County Medical Examiner’s Office at the park on Wednesday.
Attorney Steven Bertolino, who represents the Laundrie family, told Fox News Digital that the parents informed the North Port Police Department and the FBI Tuesday night that they were going to search the park. They met law enforcement officers on site. The attorney confirmed that “some articles belonging to Brian were found.”
Fox News has obtained an exclusive video showing the parents of Brian Laundrie speaking with law enforcement who found the items.
“Chris and Roberta went to the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park this morning to search for Brian,” Bertolino stated in an email. “The FBI and (North Port Police Department) were informed last night of Brian’s parents’ intentions and they met Chris and Roberta there this morning.”
“After a brief search off a trail that Brian frequented some articles belonging to Brian were found. As of now, law enforcement is conducting a more thorough search of that area,” he added.
The father, Chris Laundrie, was seen going through the brush looking for something. A little while later, he and his wife Roberta Laundrie split up. The father and two officers went into the brush on the left side of the trail for about 12 minutes.
Chris Laundrie returned with the officers and joined back up with his wife. Later, the Laundries purportedly found a white bag and a dark-colored object after looking through the brush some more. They were seen placing the object inside a bag and then giving it to law enforcement.

As they were preparing to leave the park, the couple called someone and then received a call after that. A law enforcement officer joined them at that point and could be seen patting Chris Laundrie’s shoulder as they tightly huddled together.
The Laundries left the park after discussing the items found with a police officer at about 8:45 a.m. They were distraught as they were confronted by protesters at the park.
A thorough search is now underway in the area. The park has been closed to the public once again. It had just reopened on Tuesday after weeks of searching for the fugitive.
Approximately a dozen police officers and six plainclothed individuals were seen entering the park. A number of police cars and unmarked vehicles also entered the area.
The Laundries returned to their home following the visit to the park.
Although Laundrie is only referred to as a person of interest in Petito’s death, the FBI has issued a warrant for his arrest for the unauthorized use of her bank card.
Laundrie’s parents claimed that their son went to Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park on Sept. 13. That was the last day that anyone can legitimately verify seeing him. He left his home before 7:15 a.m. that morning.
