NBA star benched for refusing vax becomes symbol: ‘Kyrie just sacrificed more than Kaepernick ever did!’

NBA superstar Kyrie Irving who has declined to be vaccinated and as a result was suspended by the Brooklyn Nets until he changes his mind, has become the focus of the authoritarian mob that serves as de facto enforcers for the Biden administration and its insistence that Americans be jabbed or else.

With tipoff for the new season fast approaching, the desire by some players to make their own personal health decisions has been a headache for the league and with Irving being the most high profile holdout, something had to be done to make an example of him, showing that those who refuse to be vaccinated will be severely punished.

Irving, who has indicated that he would not play in home games due to New York City’s vaccine mandate, was benched by the franchise which banned him from participating in practices and road games until he submits, a strong message to others who have yet to receive the shots.

The news was announced in a statement by Nets GM Sean Marks stating that, after “thorough deliberation,” it was decided that Irving will be at least temporarily canceled. Marks all but openly accused him of not being a team player.

“Kyrie has made a personal choice, and we respect his individual right to choose,” Marks said. “Currently the choice restricts his ability to be a full-time member of the team, and we will not permit any member of our team to participate with part-time availability.”

Irving now faces a difficult decision with the possibility of being blackballed, ruling out a trade and bending a knee to the vaccine overlords in what would be a humiliating surrender after his insistence that his opposition is a part of a greater cause and not that he himself is anti-vax.

According to sources cited in a story published by the sports website The Athletic, Irving believes that he is “fighting for something bigger than basketball” and that his stance is that he is upset that people are being forced into unemployment for not being vaccinated. The story portrays him as wanting to be a voice for the voiceless.

The Twitter mob pounced, led by foaming at the mouth lunatic Keith Olbermann whose sad fall from the studios of ESPN and MSNBC to making YouTube videos from the balcony of his New York apartment has exponentially increased his anger level.

A key aspect of the story is that none of the “woke” NBA players, whose virtue-signaling and in-your-face advocacy for Black Lives Matter has tanked ratings and trashed the brand of a league that had once marketed itself as “Fantastic,” rose to speak out in his defense.

The lack of support for Irving, who bought a house for George Floyd’s mother and who -,unlike so many of his peers -,has actually practiced what he preaches, shows the cynical nature of NBA players when it comes to their SJW virtue signaling, and their cowardly indifference to his plight which speaks volumes.

Others applauded Irving’s courage.

NBA players who have thumped their chests and claimed to be champions of the oppressed have suddenly swallowed their tongues and holstered their hair-trigger Twitter fingers now that discrimination has reared its ugly head with Irving’s banishment.
