Independent journalist Lara Logan blasted Attorney General Merrick Garland on Monday as he announced via the DOJ that the FBI will take aim at parents guilty of what he calls a “disturbing spike” in threats against school employees over Critical Race Theory.
“You can smell the fear in this act – further confirmation those in power really, really fear the power of ‘we the people’ standing together, united. This is not the action of a govt secure in its position. Like everything evil, tyranny comes from weakness – not strength,” Logan tweeted in response to anti-CRT activist Christopher Rufo tweeting on the subject.
“BREAKING: Attorney General Merrick Garland has instructed the FBI to mobilize against parents who oppose critical race theory in public schools, citing ‘threats.’ The letter follows the National School Board Association’s request to classify protests as ‘domestic terrorism,'” Rofu stated via Twitter.
Garland has tasked the FBI with going after those he sees as a threat after “a disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff.”

Logan followed up her tweet by claiming that Americans aren’t nearly as divided as they have portrayed in much of the media:
Even a superficial look at the parents standing up to this will show you this affects every American regardless & we are not divided in spite of their best efforts to shove that down all our throats.

“While spirited debate about policy matters is protected under our Constitution, that protection does not extend to threats of violence or efforts to intimidate individuals based on their views,” Garland wrote in his memo that he sent to federal prosecutors as well as FBI Director Christopher Wray. “Threats against public servants are not only illegal, they run counter to our nation’s core values.”
“Those who dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that our children receive a proper education in a safe environment deserve to be able to do their work without fear for their safety,” he asserted.
The memo from Garland came just days after the National School Boards Association (NSBA) claimed in a letter that “America’s public schools and its education leaders are under an immediate threat.” Their letter is purportedly a direct accusation against angry parents who attend school board meetings to speak up against mask mandates and Critical Race Theory being forced on their children.
“In the coming days, the Department will announce a series of measures designed to address the rise in criminal conduct toward school personnel,” Garland’s memo said.
It “will also create specialized training and guidance for local school boards and school administrators,” the Justice Department’s press release stated. “This training will help school board members and other potential victims understand the type of behavior that constitutes threats, how to report threatening conduct to the appropriate law enforcement agencies, and how to capture and preserve evidence of threatening conduct to aid in the investigation and prosecution of these crimes.”
The letter was sent on Sept. 29th and asserted that “propaganda purporting the false inclusion of Critical Race Theory within classroom instruction and curricula” was the cause of dozens of incidents at school board meetings this year.
“This propaganda continues despite the fact that Critical Race Theory is not taught in public schools and remains a complex law school and graduate school subject well beyond the scope of a K-12 class,” the letter disingenuously claimed.
The NSBA stated that “[a]s these acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased, the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes” and then demanded that the matter be addressed.
The letter cited over 20 reported incidents in California, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Ohio, and other states.
“We are coming after you,” a letter mailed to an Ohio school board member allegedly threatened. “You are forcing them to wear masks — for no reason in this world other than control. And for that, you will pay dearly.”
Garland has ordered the FBI and US attorneys to conduct meetings with federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial leaders within 30 days to “facilitate the discussion of strategies for addressing threats” and “open dedicated lines of communication for threat reporting, assessment, and response.”
NSBA interim Executive Director and CEO Chip Slaven is thrilled and praised Garland’s actions as sending a “strong message to individuals with violent intent who are focused on causing chaos, disrupting our public schools, and driving wedges between school boards and the parents, students, and communities they serve.”
“Over the last few weeks, school board members and other education leaders have received death threats and have been subjected to threats and harassment, both online and in person,” Slaven alleged. “The individuals who are intent on causing chaos and disrupting our schools—many of whom are not even connected to local schools—are drowning out the voices of parents who must be heard when it comes to decisions about their children’s education, health, and safety. These acts of intimidation are also affecting educational services and school board governance. Some have even led to school lockdowns.”
“We need to get back to the work of meeting all students’ needs and making sure that each student is prepared for a successful future,” Slaven continued. “That’s what school board members and parents care about.”
Americans are losing all trust in the intelligence agencies and are now fearing the militarization of police against political opponents of the left:
Well the FBI will stage some crimes fairly quickly.

And we thought the FBI only does insurrections. It appears they will also be tasked to harass parents looking out for their children’s well-being.

Well, never thought I would say this, but thank god for Mitch McConnell. Can’t imagine what someone who used federal authority this way would do with life tenure on the highest court.

Parents can’t speak at a school board meeting because it makes someone feel unsafe but it’s ok to stalk, bully and film someone in the bathroom. Gotcha.

It’s time to stand up to this totalitarianism. Parents standing up for their children is now being labeled as domestic terrorism. This is insanity!

The federal government loves CRT because it divides people against each other, distracting them from their real enemy, the government.

Extremely disturbing. This is political judiciary. No check and balance, just an attempt at a power grab by Judge.

Ms. Logan, I totally agree with your assessment! The “smell of fear” is definitely in the air! @startchangeri @Lancia4Congress #FliptheHousein2022 https://t.co/GkgIf9EQSf

By his own memorandum and disregard for the rights of citizens to redress grievances against the government, Attorney General Garland ha confirmed that he was not suited to be a Supreme Court Justice.
