Dem takes swipe at TX abortion bill with outrageous call for forced vasectomies at 40 or after 3rd child

Rep. Christopher Rabb (D-PA) has introduced an outrageous bill in response to the “Fetal Heartbeat” bill in Texas calling for all “inseminators” to undergo a vasectomy within six weeks at age 40 or after they conceive a third child.

“I will be introducing a bill inspired by @RepKellyCassidy that requires all inseminators to undergo #vasectomies within 6 weeks of having their third child or 40th birthday, whichever comes first. /1 Additionally, . . . #ReproJustice #ReproductiveRights #AbortionIsHealthcare,” Rabb tweeted at the beginning of a series of tweets meant to take aim at Texas’ ban on abortions after six weeks.

“My forthcoming bill will codify the definition of #wrongfulconception to include when a person has demonstrated negligence toward preventing #conception during intercourse. /2 And . . .,” he continued. “. . . this legislation will allow Pennsylvanians to take #civilaction against inseminators for unwanted #pregnancies who wrongfully conceive a child with them. /3.”

“Last, this bill will empower Pennsylvanians to enforce this prospective law by offering a $10K reward for reporting to the proper authorities those #scofflaws who have not complied with this statute within the allotted timeframe. /4,” he added.

“As long as legislators continue to restrict the #ReproductiveRights of cis women, trans men & non-binary folx, there should be laws to address the responsibility of men who impregnate them! @NCSLorg @MarchForWomen @PPKeystone @aclupa @newvoicesrj,” Rabb concluded.

“As we head toward climax on this heated discourse around this delicate matter, we should come together to address it with surgical precision. We must also commit to mending the social fabric being sliced up by bitter acrimony,” Rabb tongue-in-cheek noted in his legislation. He labeled the bill as “parody.”

“For far too long, the public debate around abortion, contraception, and related reproductive matters has thrust government into the center of restrictions on the bodily autonomy of women and girls. Rarely is there a meaningful dialogue around public policy focusing on the personal responsibility of cisgender men in this sphere,” the bill states. “The rights of cisgender men have always been paramount in our society with little focus on their responsibility as inseminators to change their behaviors for the good of their partners, families, and society at large.”

The oddly worded bill follows rallies last weekend that were organized by abortion activists across Pennsylvania and the country as well.

“My public memo summarizes a parody bill that I will be introducing in order to raise awareness about how government wrongfully infringes on the personal liberty of women and their bodily autonomy,” Rabb told The Epoch Times.

Rabb claims his forced vasectomy bill idea was inspired by Rep. Kelly Cassidy (D-IL). Cassidy proposed an amendment to a bill that would force men to watch a graphic video on the side effects of Viagra before buying it. It also suggests rectal exams and psychological testing. She describes herself on Twitter as “Illinois’s lesbian lawmaker, arch nemesis of the good, the true, & the beautiful & creator of the worst legislation.”

Alabama Democratic Representative Rolanda Hollis put forth a similar bill in February of 2020 that would require men to get a vasectomy within a month of turning 50 or after the birth of their third child. Her bill was slammed as an “outrageous overstep.”

Rabb remarked, “To each person who views this bill I’ve introduced as absurd, I’d urge you to apply equal scrutiny to laws in places like Texas and right here in Pennsylvania, which enact paternalistic restrictions on the personal liberty of cis women, trans men and nonbinary individuals who have an unwanted pregnancy. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander!”

Republicans ridiculed and laughed off the preposterous bill.

“As you are aware, the bill has no chance of committee consideration,” Mike Straub, the spokesman for Pennsylvania House Speaker Bryan Cutler, stated in an email to The Epoch Times. “It proves Rep. Rabb is not interested in actually trying to work together towards solving issues facing the Commonwealth.”

Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Barb Gleim posted a blistering rebuke of Rabb’s proposal on Facebook: “If there was any doubt that today’s progressive left have utterly and completely disregarded your personal medical freedom, then let this be the nail in the coffin.”

She declared, “This bill will never see the light of day as long as Republicans control the House, but I wanted you all to be aware how quickly policies that belong in Communist China would become the norm here if Democrats seized total control of State Government.”
