Marine Lance Corporal Hunter Clark, who claimed to have helped rescue a baby at the Kabul airport, appeared onstage at a Trump rally in Georgia Saturday and is now being investigated by his command for it.
Clark was invited to speak by former President Trump during the packed “Save America Rally” at the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agriculture Center in Perry, Georgia.
“We’re also honored to be joined by one of the Marines who bravely served in Kabul during the withdrawal and helped evacuate children over the airport and over the airport wall,” Trump told the cheering massive crowd.
“You saw him, he did a great job, Lance Corporal Hunter Ian Clark. Lance Corporal, get up here!” the former President yelled at the Georgia Marine.
The crowd went wild as he stepped onstage. He introduced himself as “the guy that pulled the baby over the wall,” and declared “it’s definitely probably one of the greatest things I’ve done in my entire life.”
He continued, “I just want to thank all the support from all y’all. It really means a lot and I’m glad to be home now.” The crowd continued to cheer as he shook Trump’s hand amid raucous chants of “USA! USA! USA!”

Clark’s command contends that it is against Defense Department rules for active-duty troops to “speak before a partisan political gathering, including any gathering that promotes a partisan political party, candidate, or cause.” That is the excuse they are using to go after him.
“The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) has initiated a command investigation regarding LCpl Hunter Clark’s attendance at the event last weekend to determine if any DoD policies were violated,” Captain Kelton Cochran, who is a spokesman for the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, stated, according to Task & Purpose.
“Any details pertaining to this incident are not releasable while the investigation is being conducted,” Cochran asserted.
They are also trying to diminish him as a hero and throw doubt on his version of events.
Task & Purpose is reporting that Clark has not specified when he pulled the baby over the wall. After the outlet first reported on Clark’s heroism, his command quickly contacted reporters to claim he was not the Marine that was shown in an Aug. 19 viral video that pictured an infant being pulled above razor wire outside the airport.

“The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit cannot confirm if Clark is one of the other Marines in that video,” claimed Capt. Kelton J Cochran, who is a spokesman for the 24th MEU. He also stated that there were a number of incidents during the evacuation of Afghans that involved handing children to U.S. troops.
It should be noted that Clark was not in uniform at the rally and did not campaign for Trump or endorse him. This is yet one more incident where the military is seen cracking down on those who speak out against them or support Trump, just as Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller did when he called for accountability from military leaders after the bloody Afghanistan withdrawal in a viral video. He is now sitting in solitary confinement in a brig at Camp Lejeune awaiting his fate.

“In their memory tonight we have 13 empty seats of honor right here in the front row,” Trump proclaimed. “Our hearts go out to the families of every service member that we have lost, and I’ve spoken to a lot of them. These are great, great people.”
Trump blasted Biden’s catastrophic withdrawal and evacuation from Afghanistan as the “most appalling display of incompetence” he’d ever seen during the rally.
