Lara Trump had some harsh words for Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) specifically and Democratic priorities in general, recently.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, more commonly known as AOC, is no stranger to charges of hypocrisy and tone-deaf gaffes. Drama seems to follow her like a lost puppy, from complaining she didn’t have enough money for rent when elected, to her staged photo ops at the border (that were actually just the parking lot), to her poor abuela (grandmother) in Puerto Rico with the leaking roof (while her granddaughter enjoys a cushy, well paid DC job).
The latest drama is AOC appearing at an expensive, elite dinner, the Met Gala, where tickets can cost up to $30,000 per head, while wearing not a mask, but a dress that says “tax the rich” (a stunt not even Whoopi Goldberg and “The View” could get behind, and possibly violating ethics laws). Yet the hypocrisy doesn’t end there, according to Lara Trump, daughter of former president Donald Trump, who went on Fox News on Thursday morning to rip into AOC and the Democrats over their selective outrage on the situation at the border.
Specifically, Lara wondered aloud on Fox News as to why AOC, the same AOC who made such a fuss about children in cages during her father’s presidency, was off at expensive galas for the wealthy elite, while images of abandoned immigrant children, some less than a year old, were flowing in from the crisis at the border:
“This is a horrifying thing to see and when is it enough? Where’s AOC by the way? Remember when she was crying down at the southern border during the Trump administration about all the kids? Where is she now? I know she was busy at the Met Gala flaunting around in that very fancy dress of hers. Why is there not more outrage from the folks on the left about what is happening at our southern border—especially to these kids.”
The images in question come from a report by U.S. Border Patrol agents on Tuesday, where they rescued two small children, approximately aged 2-years-old and 3-months-old, who had been abandoned at the border near the Rio Grande River in Texas.
While the photos are poignant and heartbreaking, its only one small part of the greater crisis currently unfolding at the border. Even when small children are taken into custody by federal authorities, they often go missing and unaccounted for. Illegal immigrants have flooded across, not vaccinated nor even tested by the Biden administration which has come down on American citizens so sternly about Covid-19 vaccinations and precautions.
The situation has gotten so bad, and caused so many deaths, that some have even taken to calling the corpses they routinely find “Biden bodies.”
As Lara pointed out, the silence from the left on these issues has been deafening.
