As Secretary of State Antony Blinken is set to testify in front of the House Foreign Affairs Committee on the withdrawal from Afghanistan, Human Events Senior Editor Jack Posobiec is claiming that Republicans have obtained an audio recording of him attacking Biden officials.
“BREAKING: Republican staff have an audio recording of Tony Blinken at an East Hampton gathering the weekend that Kabul fell. In the recording, Blinken is heard making several disparaging comments about the most senior members of the Biden administration, per GOP official,” Posobiec tweeted.
If true, that will reflect very badly on Blinken. It is not yet known who Blinken may have badmouthed in the administration. The timing of the alleged recording is also interesting concerning it took place the weekend Afghanistan fell to the Taliban. Again, there is no context yet. If any of the rumor turns out to be true, it’s a bad look for the Biden administration.
Blinken is set to testify Monday afternoon on Biden’s catastrophic Afghanistan withdrawal and evacuation. Biden and Blinken will also testify on Tuesday.

The secretary of state will reportedly be bombarded with questions concerning the lead-up to the pull-out deadline of August 31, according to Newsweek. Blinken will also be grilled on why troops were removed before all American citizens and allies were evacuated.
He will be queried on the number of Americans and Afghan allies who have been evacuated versus those who still remain behind enemy lines. The committee will also want to know what plans were in place to get them out of the country.
Lawmakers will also ask Blinken why the Biden administration did not heed warnings of the Taliban’s rapid takeover from the intelligence community as well as the bombing at the Kabul airport that resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S. service members.

The vetting process of more than 50,000 Afghan refugees brought into the U.S. and the relationship between the Biden administration and the Taliban will also be hot topics for House Republicans.
“The Taliban seek international legitimacy and support,” Blinken noted to reporters last week. “Any legitimacy, any support will have to be earned, and we heard that across the board, from everyone participating in today’s session.”
Two Republican House members have already introduced articles of impeachment against Blinken. They contend that he failed to properly advise Biden and abandoned American interests in Afghanistan.
“Secretary Blinken has failed to faithfully uphold his oath and has instead presided over a reckless abandonment of our nation’s interests, security, and values in his role in the withdrawal of American forces and diplomatic assets from Afghanistan,” the articles claim.
“I have a lot of questions for Antony Blinken, as do all of the Republicans and I’m sure many of our Democratic friends,” committee member Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) told the “Fox Report” on Sunday. “Look, right now, we have families that are still stranded.”
Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) also aired his concern that he and others on the committee would not get a chance to question Blinken if the secretary leaves early.
“Each time Mr. Blinken’s come to our committee … he only comes for maybe two or three hours,” Steube told Nexstar’s Kellie Myer. Because of Steube’s junior status on the committee, he has not had a chance to question Blinken.
FL @RepGregSteube tells me he's concerned he won't be able to question @SecBlinken during Monday's House Foreign Affairs hearing on Afghanistan. He says in the past Blinken hasn't stayed for the full duration – giving enough time to get through all lawmaker questions. pic.twitter.com/iIutHeWsfO

To deflect from Biden’s and Blinken’s failures concerning Afghanistan, House Democrats will most likely focus on the last two decades in the country that occurred under four U.S. presidents. They will almost certainly attack former President Trump and his dealings with the terrorist country as well.
Conservatives want to know all about the Blinken recording:
