Failed presidential and New York mayoral candidate Andrew Yang will renounce the Democrat Party in favor of his yet-to-be-announced third party next month, timed in conjunction with his brand new book in what many are deeming a publicity stunt at best, and a failure before launch at worst.
The announcement of the new, third party is expected on October 5, 2021, parallel with the release of Yang’s, “Forward: Notes on the Future of Our Democracy,” Politico reported, citing “two people familiar with the matter.”
Published by Penguin Random House subsidiary, Crown, the book is being billed as “a powerful and urgent warning that we must step back from the brink and plot a new way forward for our democracy.” It promises to identify “‘priests of the decline’ of America, including politicians whose incentives have become divorced from the people they supposedly serve,” according to an online description.
The description also notes that the book was inspired by Yang’s “experience running for office,” but fails to mention the abysmal results of his two campaigns.
The usual brass of Democrats, politicos, and political entrepreneurs wrote generous reviews of Yang’s latest endeavor.
“Yang does not just give us a laundry list of intractable problems, but shows how we can find solutions if we think in new ways and summon the courage to do so,” writer Kara Swisher penned.
“Forward is a vitally important book that shows how entrepreneurial, independent thinking will be the indispensable ingredient to solving our biggest political and economic challenges,” Shark Tank superstar and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said.
“Yang is the most original thinker in the political scene,” Scott Galloway, New York University professor, author, and podcaster gleaned.
Most Americans and politicos alike, however, don’t seem to buy the hype from well-to-do book reviewers and wasted no time calling Yang out on Twitter:

The failed politician’s initial popularity grew from his promise of a monthly universal basic income of $1,000 for every American adult and from his first book, “The War on Normal People: The Truth About America’s Disappearing Jobs and Why Universal Basic Income Is Our Future,” as well as the quirky acronym brandished on his campaign gear, “MATH” or Make America Think Harder.
Unfortunately for Yang, this initial enthusiasm from his supporters dubbed, “The Yang Gang,” never solidified in the form of– you know– real votes.
No other details surrounding the party including the name or future plans to deploy it in 2022 or 2024 have been released. The Yang Gang did not respond to requests for comment, according to Politico.
