Patriotic Marine mom earns adoring Twitter fans with ‘I don’t kneel’ sign in ESPN clip

One proud mama bear held up a sign in support of her military son in a Clemson-Georgia football pregame clip from ESPN on Saturday night in Charlotte.

While gameday signs are notorious for their clever messages, they typically focus on the fan’s favorite team or poke fun at the opponent, but this mother’s message scored smiles from both sides of the football field as it spoke to patriotic Americans across the country.

Amidst a crowd of Clemson-clad fans, the woman held a homemade sign that read, “Proud Marine Mom” above her head as she smiled and waved to the camera. The sign also had a photo of the Marine, and the words “Love you Ryan!” and “#I don’t kneel.”

Check out the clip below at around the 9:45 mark.

Here’s a closeup of the sign also emblazoned with a large United States Marine Corps seal.

Fans of the proud mother applauded her on social media, indicating that “no real American would ever kneel.”

Former NFL football player Colin Kaepernick started the shameful trend of kneeling during the national anthem in 2016 in protest of alleged police brutality and racial inequality and the trend spread like wildfire among woke athletes. Although Kaepernick no longer plays professionally, he has continued his political rhetoric ever since.

In 2019, he complained about a Nike shoe that was released to celebrate the Fourth of July that depicted an early American flag, known as the “Betsy Ross flag.” After Nike pulled the shoe, it garnered far more attention than it likely would have otherwise, and the shoes reportedly were selling for as much as $950 a pair on reselling websites.
