U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) is cosponsoring articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) due to his disastrous, and now deadly, “foreign policy failure” in Afghanistan.
“It is time to take action and remove the sitting President from office due to his gross negligence that undermined our national security, led to the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, and resulted in a grave humanitarian crisis,” Duncan tweeted Friday.
“I am heartsick at the President’s failure to fulfill his duty that has resulted in American deaths & thousands of Americans and Afghan allies being abandoned at the risk of being tortured, captured, held hostage, or killed at the hands of the Taliban or other terrorist forces,” he added. “Our Commander-in-Chief showed reckless disregard for both American citizens and allies in neglecting to secure their safe evacuation from Afghanistan once he withdrew our troops.”
“The President promised to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, but it is evident the President has failed to fulfill this charge,” Duncan somberly stated.

This was not a decision or action that Duncan took lightly. He said it “saddens” him to take such drastic steps.
Greene lauded Duncan’s support for Biden’s impeachment. She said it was “time for Congress to hold this administration accountable.”
Thank you @RepJeffDuncan for cosponsoring my articles of impeachment against Joe Biden related to Afghanistan.
It’s time for Congress to hold this administration accountable.
Joe Biden must be impeached. Immediately.

Last week, Greene introduced a trio of impeachment resolutions that called for Biden to be removed from office over numerous issues, including his catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan.
She accused the president of “dereliction of duty” after the country fell to the Taliban. She asserted that Biden “failed to secure the extraction of thousands of American civilians and Afghan Allies” and “armed our enemies” by leaving U.S. military equipment behind for terrorists to claim.
Previously, it seemed extremely unlikely that articles of impeachment would take hold in a Democratic-held Congress. But now, lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle are calling out Biden over the bloody mess that is Afghanistan following a suicide bombing on Thursday that took the lives of 13 U.S. service members and 169 Afghans.
U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) called for Biden to resign on Thursday in the shadow of what he called a “sickening” event.
“This is the product of Joe Biden’s catastrophic failure of leadership. It is now painfully clear he has neither the will nor the capacity to lead. He must resign,” Hawley said in a statement.

“To say that today’s loss of American lives in Kabul is sickening does not begin to do justice to what has happened. It is enraging. And Joe Biden is responsible. It is now clear beyond all doubt that he has neither the capacity nor the will to lead. He must resign,” Hawley also tweeted.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) also said that President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley “should all resign or face impeachment and removal from office.”
Joe Biden pledged a forceful response against any attack on US servicemembers. He must follow through on his word make these terrorists pay.

Since Thursday’s bloody suicide bombing at the Kabul airport, the number of Republicans calling for Biden’s resignation or impeachment has exploded, according to the New York Post.
The list includes Reps, Jim Banks (R-ID), Andy Biggs (R-AA), Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Claudia Tenney (R-NY), Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Lance Gooden (R-TX), Byron Donalds (R-FL), Ronny Jackson (R-TX), Greg Steube (R-FL), Mike Garcia (R-CA), Jody Hice (R-GA), Vicky Hartzler (R-MO), Tom Rice (R-SC), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Mike Waltz (R-FL), Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA), Mark Green (R-TN), Lee Zeldin (R-NY), Warren Davidson (R-TN), Kevin Hern (R-OK), Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), and Roger Williams (R-TX).
That is an incomplete list and is growing by the hour. There are also Democrats who are edging towards the same conclusion.

Rep. Rice, who was one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump earlier this year, raged on Twitter, and called for Biden to “turn over the job to someone who can handle it.”
President Biden, you yourself said ‘The Buck stops here.’ Do the American people a favor. Resign and turn the job over to someone who can handle it.

“Joe Biden has blood on his hands. The buck stops with the President of the United States,” Rep. Elise Stefanik wrote. “This horrific national security and humanitarian disaster is solely the result of Joe Biden’s weak and incompetent leadership. He is unfit to be Commander-in-Chief.”
