‘Unforgivable!’ Palpable anger rips through social media over Biden’s botched Afghan disaster

Retired Marine, amputee, and Fox News host Joey Jones shared a heart-wrenching series of messages from veterans who are desperately trying to get family members and friends out of Afghanistan before it’s too late.

“Thread: I have been fielding/connecting individual veterans’ efforts to get friends and their families out of Afghanistan. I’ve spoken with some Americans in Afghanistan. This thread is their messages directly to me over the last week,” Jones started off on Twitter.

“I’ve been helping try to get an interpreter out-his wife is 9 months pregnant. We were so so close but they are basically closing evacuation ops tomorrow from what I hear so I don’t think they are going to get out,” one veteran sadly reported.

“I have been working from 6 am to midnight over the last 3 weeks. My family is still stuck. Tying to evacuate them on 70 of my staff. The irony is that I am helping evacuate others to the US, But can’t do anything for my own family Because of bureaucracy,” another frustrated veteran revealed.

More messages flowed into Jones’ account. But one echoed the sentiments and fears of most Americans, “What I’ve witnessed in this time is absolutely UNFORGIVABLE. What this administration has done. We have AMCIT families still in hiding. The Taliban has already killed a few of my terps’ family members”

Jones and his commenters are by no means alone in their anger and frustration over Biden’s botched Afghanistan evacuation. It is a bloody catastrophe that is playing out in front of the world.

Retired Navy SEAL Scott Taylor commented to “Fox & Friends” on Thursday that he is “absolutely ashamed of the leadership” in America currently. He contends that President Biden had a “range of options and strategies” before and during the collapse of Afghanistan and his “epic failure” could lead to the largest American hostage situation in America’s history.

It could dwarf the Iran hostage crisis under former President Carter where fifty-two United States diplomats and citizens were held hostage after a group of militarized Iranian college students belonging to the Muslim Student Followers of the Imam’s Line and who supported the Iranian Revolution seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. The hostages were held for 444 days until January 20, 1981, right after former President Reagan was sworn in. This crisis could potentially see thousands of hostages taken.

“I am absolutely ashamed of the leadership of my country right now, not the men and women in uniform who are on the ground and others who are civilians that are helping that are working hard to save lives. But I’m absolutely baffled that no one has been fired, astounded that there [have] been zero resignations in protest… Biden didn’t have a binary choice. It wasn’t ‘should we stay or should we go?’ He had a range of options and strategies, and what occurred is an epic failure that could lead to the largest American hostage situation in our nation’s history,” Taylor angrily remarked.

“The reality is the Taliban is on their best behavior right now, and that’s not very good… the only reason for that is because of the thousands of American troops that are there right now. When we leave, I think all hell is going to break loose, and I think this nation needs leaders elected, needs leaders appointed, who are willing to walk through the fires of hell to get American citizens out safe,” he asserted.

President Biden has set a deadline of Aug. 31 for everyone to be out of Afghanistan. That deadline would never have worked but now is moot as a bomb went off on Thursday outside the Kabul airport killing and maiming troops and civilians. The evacuation is in reality now over and any Americans still in-country are now trapped behind enemy lines.

Palpable anger ripped through social media over the devastating situation:

Multiple sources, including on the ground in Kabul, are confirming to the Military Times that troops are welding shut the Kabul Airport gates in response to the terrorist attacks that just occurred.
