In yet another of the self-defeating moves that are commonplace in the current era of politically driven corporate decisions, a popular outdoor clothing manufacturer has ended its relationship with the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort as retaliation after the owner hosted a Republican fundraiser.
Patagonia, which prides itself on being fully “woke,” announced that it would no longer sell its merchandise at the ski resort which is located on the Teton Range as retaliation after one of the owners hosted the event which featured pro-Trump GOP lawmakers including U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a top target of the authoritarian left.
Claiming that such an exercise of free speech was incompatible with the company’s values, Patagonia announced that it would no longer be providing gear to retail outlets at the resort and in nearby Jackson. Known for its spectacular scenery, Jackson Hole is the most popular tourist destination in Wyoming.
According to Patagonia spokesperson Corley Kenna, “We join with the local community that is using its voice in protest,” she said in a statement. “We will continue to use our business to advocate for stronger policies to protect our planet, end hate speech and support voting rights and a strong democracy.”
It is important to point out that the term “hate speech” is always loosely applied to anyone who is in disagreement with the far-left agenda of the Democratic Party and is always selectively enforced.
The statement also claims that Patagonia is supportive of a “strong democracy,” a peculiar definition of the process when considering that the political speech and activity of those in the minority is being squelched as never before in America through the “public-private” partnership.
Patagonia’s punitive move is a reaction to the August 5th event hosted by resort co-owner Jay Kemmerer which featured former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows along with Taylor Greene and fellow House Freedom Caucus member Jim Jordan, all of whom are loyal allies of the former POTUS.

Greene has particularly gotten under the skin of Democrats as the outspoken Georgia congresswoman has openly defied Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s mask mandates, spoken out against mandatory vaccines, and has faced social media suspensions for her refusal to fall in line.
While Twitter was swarmed by liberals cheering on Patagonia, some pointed out the obvious.
Patagonia boycotting its rich customer base in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is the greatest self-own I’ve heard in awhile.

One more brand to add to my do not buy their products list ~ @patagonia.
I Can’t even pickup an ugly pullover jacket without getting a political lecture these days. Gee Whiz 🙄 https://t.co/UwiXPEoAB0

The resort is Patagonia’s biggest customer in the area but the prospect of lost sales and potential boycotts by conservatives which have befallen other corporations that went full “woke” are secondary to the virtue-signaling, even if it ends up damaging the brand for millions who would otherwise buy its products.
