Hegseth: We’re at the whim of our enemy, 9/11 facilitators are calling the shots on Americans in Kabul

The Biden administration continues to maintain that there are no Americans “stranded” in Afghanistan because anyone who wants out is already communicating with them which, frankly, is nonsense, and Afghanistan war vet and “Fox & Friends Weekend” co-host Pete Hegseth warned, “the people who facilitated the 9/11 attacks now control which Americans are allowed to flee the country.”

Hegseth joined Fox News host Jesse Watters on “Fox News Primetime” to discuss the administration’s pathetic defense of their own hurried evacuation attempts of Americans in a Taliban-controlled country.

“Don’t worry though, we’re in touch via text and email and you can submit via the website,” Hegseth mocked press secretary Jen Psaki. “But right now the guidance of the embassy which we abandoned and moved to the airport is ‘the gates are closed, don’t try to get to the airport, don’t call us’, maybe we’ll call you and when we ask you to move, just find your way through those Taliban checkpoints where they’re checking your passports or your visa application and they beat you when you try to get through or they don’t want to let you through,” Hegseth illustrated the grim situation for Americans still trapped on the ground.

The Biden administration’s evident lack of leadership has led to a sort of hostage situation for Americans trapped on the ground according to Hegseth. On Monday, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby couldn’t answer simple questions, like how many Americans remain, opting instead to say that they can’t be sure because it changes by the hour.

“We are at the whim of our enemy. The people who facilitated the 9/11 attacks now control which Americans are allowed to flee the country which, in effect makes every American and every Afghan translator who can’t get through already a hostage of the Taliban. Hostage to a timeline they’re committed to and this White House is completely beholden to,” Hegseth explained.

The Army National Guard combat veteran criticized the Biden administration’s strategy of asking permission of terrorists instead of pushing out to secure a perimeter. He also noted their utter silence in defense of the safety of Americans still on the ground.

“We’re calling the Taliban and asking permission and not… making it very clear, if you harm a hair on the head of an American, we’re going to stack Taliban bodies. Give us 24 hours, wide open, every American in, you touch one, you die. It’s not hard, but we won’t do it,” Hegseth stated.

“The fact that we’re currently groveling to the Taliban to help us get American citizens out of the country shows you how terribly wrong this withdrawal has gone. I can tell you, first of all, there’s nothing good about the Taliban,” former Navy JAG advisor Shawn Collins chimed in.

Collins described a few of the scenarios he experienced while living in Kandahar city that showcased the Taliban’s complete lack of regard for human life.

“The Taliban, let me tell you how they operate. So my first interpreter when I was in Afghanistan was shot in the back of the head in the bazaar because he worked with Americans. They sent a suicide bomber onto my compound and detonated him in a room full of people,” Collins continued listing the atrocities committed by the terror regime. “They parked a Toyota Corolla outside the gate of our compound and killed a lot of innocent women and children to get their point across.”

The former Navy JAG officer called Biden’s efforts “laughable” because he is allowing the Taliban to dictate the terms of American evacuation.

The August 31 evacuation deadline is looking increasingly unlikely by the day as the Taliban checkpoints surrounding the airport have made it impossible for most to get through. Hegseth noted that the evacuation will take far longer than eight days because military personnel will also have to get out and there are now 7,000 American troops on the ground.

The veteran estimates that if you include retrograding troops, America really has four to five days to evacuate citizens– but the White House still can’t seem to tell us who those Americans are.

The problem appears to be that there was no plan, and that remains the case more than a week since this all began.

“How many Afghan allies are we gonna leave behind? Honestly not 45 minutes ago I got a text that finally, after six attempts and multiple beatings of the Taliban, the brother of my interpreter who is also an interpreter, finally made it into the gates. Not because of the Biden administration, not because of the State Department, but because of vets and Marines on the ground working around the system with a plan over their cell phones and apps to facilitate this translator to get through the gates. There is no plan. He got beat at Taliban checkpoints, his two-year-old daughter got beat at Taliban checkpoints, 45 minutes ago he got in.” Hegseth described the terrible situation.

Americans should be outraged by this botched withdrawal. “If you don’t have connections, you’re not getting in which means by August 31, we’re stranding thousands of people including citizens and that will be on Joe Biden if they give in to the Taliban timeline,” Hegseth forecasted.

The Biden administration continues to dig its heels in defense of the situation.

“This operation…has produced searing images of pain and desperation. But no operation like this, no evacuation from a capitol that has fallen into civil war could unfold without those images,” National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated in defense of the terror he and the Biden administration are subjecting Americans to.

Queue the proverbial egg on face. This administration should be ashamed, but even that would waste precious time that so many trapped Americans cannot afford.
