One of the sickest and most disgusting aspects of the COVID crisis is the pure joy that the political left gets from dancing on the graves of conservatives who have succumbed to the deadly virus as they regularly take to social media to gloat over the deaths of their fellow Americans.
The latest death to set off the ghoulish celebrations was that of Phil Valentine, a conservative talk radio host from Tennessee who was skeptical about the vaccines that are being relentlessly pushed by the Biden administration and their media shills.
Valentine, who was 61 when he passed away on Saturday had a change of heart on being vaccinated during his hospital stay according to relatives but that detail only provided more fuel to the hate that was unleashed by many, including women’s tennis legend Martina Navratilova who took to Twitter where she rejoiced in his death.
“WOMP WOMP… no mercy from me for this guy,” crowed the 64-year-old Navratilova who is also an outspoken gay rights advocate in a since-deleted tweet.
perhaps you should’ve stuck with tennis over sending this tweet, @Martina. pic.twitter.com/ohgtdeVTxN

As could be expected, her tweet was met with a harsh backlash.
I'm old enough to remember when you were showered with mercy during your cancer battle. It's sad to see you didn't take that virtue to heart.
Rest assured, I still hope you have beaten cancer permanently. And I pray that you may soon realize that mercy knows no politics.

Let’s be sure to spread the word of love and compassion Martina Navratilova has for people that don’t agree with her https://t.co/FDio3E7Qc4

Thank you for displaying your abject lack of class and human decency. No reason to regard anything further from you as a source. https://t.co/dh19PVDDl2

Vile. There is something wrong in your soul.
— Sophia Benson (@SophiaB383) August 22, 2021
Instead of doing the right thing and apologizing for her appalling lapse of decorum, Navritolva melted down in an extended Twitter tirade where she defended her poor judgment and played the victim as liberals often do when they are called out for their abuse.
The LGBT icon whose wicked Twitter game of volleys of bile rival her accomplishments on the court, at least in the minds of her adoring 360.5 thousand followers, responded to her shameful remarks in a series of exchanges with users of the popular microblogging platform.
I am classy. No sympathy for a man like this
— Martina Navratilova (@Martina) August 22, 2021
WOMP WOMP as in too bad- this guy laughed about people dying and I am supposed to be sad? Nope
— Martina Navratilova (@Martina) August 22, 2021
However, she did not provide any sort of backup to her claim that Valentine had laughed about people dying.
Nor did she provide proof for the ridiculous assertion that he “directly and indirectly killed people,” a vile but often invoked suggestion by the left who now that former President Donald J. Trump isn’t there to kick around anymore have transferred their virulent hatred to all Americans who they suspect of being his supporters, weaponizing COVID to accuse them of being murderers.
Prove it.
— 100 Proof 🥃 (@ChampionCapua) August 22, 2021
Navratilova also rejected the comparison of those who have transmitted AIDS to the spread of the coronavirus, while dancing another giddy jig on Valentine’s grave.
Homosexuals or drug addicts don’t kill anyone else with their behavior or platform. This guy parodied a disease which killed hundreds of thousands of Americans. With power comes responsibility- this man had none.
— Martina Navratilova (@Martina) August 22, 2021
At one point, she appeared to agree with a sympathetic tweeter that she was being attacked by bots – no doubt they are Russian – in a “coordinated” effort, brushing off legitimate critics of her appalling tweet about Valentine.
Yup. A coordinated effort it seems…
— Martina Navratilova (@Martina) August 22, 2021
She did concede that her WOMP WOMP tweet may have “sounded too harsh or cruel,” and somewhat walked it back but the damage had already been done.
In case I sounded too harsh or cruel let me rephrase my earlier tweet-
I am not celebrating this man’s passing. But neither am I mourning his passing. He made parody of a disease that has devastated our world and our country- enough said… https://t.co/rRalG56ISn— Martina Navratilova (@Martina) August 22, 2021
As a figure who has served as an inspiration to generations of girls and women with her tennis mastery, her LGBT activism, and her survival from breast cancer, one would have expected more from someone like Navratilova but with the left, everything is subservient to raw politicking on behalf of the Democratic party and like so many others, she has been forever tarnished by her devotion to their cause.
