Woman on coffee date gets note from stranger telling her to ‘run’

One Virginia woman out on a coffee date with a man over the weekend describes some unsolicited advice from the peanut gallery when her date got up to use the restroom and a stranger handed her a note that she later detailed in a Twitter thread.

The woman, Hadia S., recounted the strange encounter and the date that apparently warranted intervention from a stranger. She posted a photo of the note that “the gay guy” sitting behind her passed her on the back of a CVS receipt that read, “Too many red flags. Run. Be safe girl.”

The warning went viral garnering nearly 400,000 “likes” and users who begged Hadia to provide more context on the situation.

Hadia detailed the “red flags” she said that she recognized on her own without the note in a series of tweets.

Hadia said that she would “try to remain as vague as possible” while detailing the warning signs. One of which she said was that she and her date “did not see eye to eye on” was “DaBaby situation”.

DaBaby is a rapper who came under fire after making homophobic comments pertaining to HIV/AIDS during his set at the “Rolling Loud” music festival in July. Hadia did not share her stance on the event, nor her date’s.

She mentioned that she was also “immediately taken aback” that her date was a Kevin Samuels fan. Samuels is a YouTube dating vlogger who, to put it mildly, makes less than flattering comments about women.

Ok, I’ll share more..while trying to remain as vague as possible. But we did not see eye to eye on the Da Baby situation 😂 and he’s a Kevin Samuels fan. I had to look him up and was immediately taken aback lmao

Hadia claims to have seen the red flags herself without the note, but said she stayed because “of course [she] had to debate him”. She acquiesces that her “guardian angel was exhausted and was like ‘B***H LEAVE!'”.

There were other “GLARING red flags” according to Hadia, but she declined to mention them. She said the note was “greatly appreciated” and “added some laughs to [her] night”.

Hadia however, was not vague about a future with her disagreeable date writing, “There won’t be a second date”.

Other good samaritans and eavesdroppers alike have used notes in the past to warn women of some serious duds. A Florida bartender recently spared two women of unwanted attention from a super creep at the bar with a note he disguised on the back of a bar tab receipt. The women tweeted a photo with the bartender after and shared their story.

We aren’t able to verify the authenticity of this particular note, and while most of us might have more important things to worry about, this story was incredibly popular and trended heavily on the New York Post. Must be a slow news day, right?
