The stench of regret! Rasmussen poll finds most wouldn’t vote to reelect Biden

With the full scope of the debacle in Afghanistan still unfolding, a new poll from Rasmussen Reports suggests that buyer’s remorse has set in for at least some portion of the U.S. electorate.

Only 37 percent of likely U.S. voters would vote to reelect bad-news Joe Biden again, which implies that Donald Trump would win a presidential election in a hypothetical rematch, as support for the incumbent continues to erode.

To substantially paraphrase a line of dialogue from the Seinfeld sitcom, Biden remorse is real, and it’s spectacular.

The data from an August 16-17 national telephone and online survey of 1,000 respondents also indicates that 43 percent (although just 13 percent of Democrats) of the same cohort would support President Donald Trump if the election were theoretically held “today.” Some 14 percent would prefer voting for some other, unnamed, candidate.

Separately, both the Real Clear Politics and FiveThirtyEight trackers indicate that Biden’s approval has plummeted to below 50 percent for the first time since taking office. According to RCP, moreover, about only 37 percent of Americans think the country is currently going in the proper direction based on an aggregate of six polls, including Rasmussen.

Up until just a few days ago, the Biden agenda was getting a free pass from the corporate media.

Additional findings from Rasmussen as complied by The National Pulse:

  • Moderate voters support for Biden has plummeted 13 points, while Trump has gained;
  • 11 percent of 18-39-year-olds regret their 2020 vote;
  • 14 percent of Black Americans regret their 2020 vote;
  • 9 percent of Democrats regret their 2020 vote;
  • 12 percent of Moderates regret their 2020 vote.

What the scoffing, anti-Trump liberal Twitterverse doesn’t seem to grasp is that in a very close election (as 2020 was), these downward-trending Rasmussen numbers, albeit in the low double digits, collectively would be nearly decisive for the GOP.

The same survey indicated that 95 percent of Republicans have no regrets about voting for Trump.

It’s likely not just the highly dangerous ineptitude in the Afghan theater that has caused the hashtag #BidenRemorse to trend in the last several days.

The illegal immigration crisis at the U.S. southern border, the out-of-control federal spending, COVID-related mandates or quasi mandates, surging crime, gas price increases, critical race theory indoctrination, and other factors are playing into voter dissatisfaction with Biden and the Democrats.

This discontent presumably will likely increase as the 2022 midterm elections draw closer.

A separate Rasmussen poll taken earlier this month reaffirmed that despite the mythology from the left, Americans overwhelmingly support the idea of showing government-issued photo identification as a condition of casting a ballot in an election.
