Former President Obama’s Instagram comments were briefly turned off on Monday morning as his account was flooded with followers pleading with him to do something about the Taliban brutally seizing power in Afghanistan.
Obama has been noticeably silent over the developments in Afghanistan as thousands have tried to flee the country after it fell to the Taliban in just a few days.
As the chaos and terror spiraled out of control in Afghanistan, Obama’s Instagram posts stated, “Comments on this post have been limited” for approximately two hours. His most recent post was a video put up on Thursday promoting his All on the Line redistricting campaign.
“Afghanistan needs your help. Please please help Afghanistan,” one commenter begged.
“The blood of the #Afghan people is on the hands of those who have remained silent in the face of oppression and have made friends with the Taliban,” wrote someone else. “History will not forget your crime.”
“What did we accomplish in Afghanistan if we turn tail and run now?” another demanded. “They need us! That is not the American way! We do not surrender and run! We stay and fight and until the issues are resolved which is true independence!”
The hashtags #help_afghanistan and #afghanistanisbleeding were used before comments were disabled.
Former first lady Michelle Obama’s Instagram comments were also stopped for the same amount of time as her husband’s.
When contacted over the issue, a spokesperson for Obama told Fox News she had just found out about it and there was “no intentionality on our side.” However, she didn’t explain why it had happened either.
President Joe Biden’s foreign policy has been an unmitigated disaster that is facing harsh criticism on a global scale. Images of the evacuation of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul have been likened to the fall of Saigon in 1975 during the Vietnam War.
Biden was silent on the implosion of Afghanistan until Monday when he gave a speech addressing the matter days after the fall began. He blamed the Afghan military, the government, and the people for the Taliban’s ascension. In fact, Biden blamed everyone but himself and doubled down on believing he did the right thing by pulling U.S. troops out of the country.

“When I hosted President Ghani and Chairman Abdullah at the White House in June, and again when I spoke by phone to Ghani in July, we had very frank conversations. We talked about how Afghanistan should prepare to fight their civil wars after the U.S. military departed, to clean up the corruption in government so the government could function for the Afghan people. We talked extensively about the need for Afghan leaders to unite politically. They failed to do any of that,” Biden asserted.
“I also urged them to engage in diplomacy, to seek a political settlement with the Taliban. This advice was flatly refused. Mr. Ghani insisted that the Afghan forces would fight. But obviously, he was wrong,” Biden declared.
The president also disingenuously blamed former President Trump for setting a May 1 troop withdrawal date and leaving the Taliban “in the strongest position militarily since 2001.”
Obama has been even quieter than Biden as his former vice president has left Afghanistan in shambles and has allowed the terrorists behind 9-11 to return to power after 20 years of American blood, sweat, and tears.
Obama’s handling of the Afghanistan conflict is also coming under further scrutiny as Washington Post journalist Craig Whitlock is releasing a new book, “The Afghanistan Papers: A Secret History of the War.” In it, he accuses Obama of lying to the American people when he announced in December of 2014 that the Afghanistan war had reached a “conclusion.”
And it gets worse for the former president. On Friday, James Jay Carafano, who is vice president for foreign and defense policy studies at The Heritage Foundation, published an op-ed labeling the Obama doctrine on foreign policy as “an abysmal failure.”
“In the face of America’s enemies, the default position of Obama-Biden foreign policy default is accommodation and appeasement,” Carafano bluntly concluded. “Unfortunately, the bad guys are not stupid. They had eight years to study the Obama playbook, and they know what to do with it: exploit the deliberate self-weakening.”
A spokesperson for Obama stated that he had “no further comment” on Afghanistan, referring to his April remarks that praised Biden’s decision to withdraw from the country.
“It has been a long and arduous struggle in Afghanistan, rooted in our response to the deadliest terrorist attack on the U.S. homeland in our history,” Obama said at the time, according to the Daily Mail, stating that troops and diplomatic workers “can take pride in their efforts to deliver justice for 9/11, destroy al Qaeda’s safe-haven, train Afghan Security Forces, and support the people of Afghanistan.”
Obama was slammed on social media for not taking a stance on Afghanistan:
Not the first time he’s turned his back on the US.
