Fox News host Laura Ingraham had the director of the Initiative on Critical Race Theory at the Manhattan Institute, Chris Rufo, on the “Ingraham Angle” to discuss an explosive report exposing American Express workplace requirements.
“Yes, this is the first of 10 reports over the next 10 weeks. I’m going to be exposing 10 of the Fortune 100 companies that have adopted Critical Race Theory in the workplace. As you said, it’s not just in K through 12 schools. It’s now in corporate offices. They are ripping these employees apart. They are designating them oppressor and oppressed based on their skin color, their sexuality, their religion, their nation of origin. And then they are using this divisive ideology to mask, in many cases, their bad behavior. I’m going to expose it. American Express is first, and there’s going to be many more to come,” Rufo announced.
He wrote at the New York Post that workers were instructed to “identify the privileges or advantages you have” and were told that in order to be a team “ally” that they should not “speak over members of the black and African-American community.”
The company is calling all of this nonsense its “Anti-Racism Initiative.” Rufo added that employees are trained to “deconstruct their own intersectional identities, mapping their ‘race, sexual orientation, body type, religion, disability status, age, gender identity [and] citizenship’ onto an official company worksheet.”

Ingraham tore into American Express over Critical Race Theory, “I remember the old commercial, Chris, don’t leave home without it. Like, don’t leave home without Ibram Kendi, or without self-loathing.”
“And what I don’t understand is how is this creating a more harmonious workplace where people — sometimes people have give-and-takes,” she asked.
Rufo went on to briefly explain what American Express is getting ready to impose on its workers. “Yes, that actually is exactly what is happening. I’ve talked to a number of sources in many companies around the country. They are all telling me that this — once Critical Race Theory training programs enter the workplace, people become scared, they become paranoid, they become hostile, they become divided. They are constantly worrying about this elaborate new antiracist etiquette, what you can say, what you can’t say,” he stated.
“And in this American Express training, they explicitly told white employees that they can’t even say we are all human. And if they say this they are going to be considered racist micro-aggressors against African-Americans,” Rufo shockingly noted.
Ingraham couldn’t believe her ears and asked, “What?”
“That’s exactly what they say. It sounds absurd. You also can’t say at American Express anyone who works hard in this country can become successful. That is also seen by the company as a racist micro-aggression. And so on and so forth,” he remarked.
SCOOP: American Express Corp. has launched a critical race theory training program that teaches employees capitalism is fundamentally racist and asks them to deconstruct their racial and sexual identities, then rank themselves on a hierarchy of "privilege."
Here's the story.🧵

First, an outside firm teaches employees to deconstruct their "race, sexual orientation, body type, religion, disability status, age, gender identity, [and] citizenship" onto an official company worksheet—then determine where they stand on a hierarchy of "privilege." pic.twitter.com/NK6op1dex4

In another handout, the instructions for white employees are more explicit: "identify the privileges or advantages you have"; "don't speak over members of the Black and African-American community"; "it's not about your intent, it's about the impact you have on your colleague." pic.twitter.com/iyLp8aqQf5

“This is what I said in ‘The Angle.’ This is the whole point I started off the show with is that these people hate the idea of merit and hard work and using your God-given talents, wherever they take you. They have to drive fear in the workplace, just like they have to drive fear in the classroom,” Ingraham proclaimed.
“And by the way, Chris, the employee training manual you got your hands on, they also brought in this radical activist, Khalil Muhammad. He had something to say about the country’s policing system just a few months ago,” she informed Rufo.
Then Ingraham showed a clip where Khalil Muhammad, who is a professor of race, history, public policy and the great-grandson of the Nation of Islam’s founder, stated, “We have a system that began in the context of slavery and control, and remains, in its deepest roots, that same system. We are nowhere near where we need to be in order to expect that black lives will not continue to be cut short by everything we’ve seen so far.”
Muhammad said the company should reduce credit standards for black customers and sacrifice profits in the interest of race-based reparations. "If you want to do good, then you’re going to have to set up products and lines that don’t maximize profit," he said. pic.twitter.com/OZGDqu5MYl

Finally, AmEx recommends a series of resources for employees to dedicate themselves “to the lifelong task of overcoming our country’s racist heritage.” These materials endorse “prison abolition,” race-based reparations, and the idea that white children are racist. pic.twitter.com/mjI3kX1OhA

Ingraham was incensed, “Chris, last time I checked, America’s credit card companies weren’t in charge of fixing our, quote, racist police system. But maybe I was wrong.”
“Well, yes, they aren’t. But American Express in the training programs and the documents that I’ve obtained actually asks their employees to listen to a podcast about police abolition. So they are kind of tacitly endorsing abolishing the police altogether. It’s all absurd, it’s all fake, it’s all bogus, it’s all a performance. Our elites of all our different institutions have adopted Critical Race Theory to absolve their sense of guilt while they go and make billions of dollars in profits off the backs of the average American,” Rufo declared.
In Rufo’s op-ed he explained even more about American Express’ workplace push and noted that employees are encouraged to listen to podcasts such as Beyond Prisons which “explores incarceration from an abolitionist perspective.”
Employees are urged to read “What is Owed,” from The New York Times which is an essay from Nikole Hannah-Jones, the ‘1619 Project’ founder.
They are also encouraged to read “The Case For Reparations” from Ta-Nehisi Coates.
Rufo also comments, “Last October, AmEx announced a $1 billion ‘action plan’ to increase diversity, invest in more minority-owned businesses and donate to nonprofits that promote ‘social justice.’ Whether the company will forgo profits or abandon capitalism, as it encourages its employees to do, remains to be seen.”
Senator Tom Cotton tweeted, “CRT is so malignant that @AmericanExpress is teaching its employees that ‘capitalism is fundamentally racist.'”
American Express was slammed on social media for pushing Critical Race Theory:
How did @AmericanExpress make its money? Time to show them that capitalism works both ways—the customers who giveth can also taketh away.

If you really want to understand why corporations are embracing racial, social justice and woke initiatives, do a bit of digging into ESG scores and realize this is being pushed by the UN on down the line.

Time to cancel the amex cards @AmericanExpress
— Becky (@tecumsehmom) August 11, 2021
Just did. 23 year old gold card (that I wasn’t using) cancelled. I’d been thinking I should cancel it, this was the push I needed.
— Ivy Righty (@ivyrighty) August 11, 2021
Amex could care less about their employees. The only thing they care about IS profit. This is a CYA…I know worked there for 37 years.
— cp (@pcallahan44) August 11, 2021
@AmericanExpress doesn’t need my Gold Card if this is what their corporate policy is.
