Joe Rogan condemns vaccine passports, says they take America ‘one step closer to dictatorship’

Influential podcaster Joe Rogan is condemning vaccine passports, which he claims bear the hallmarks of an authoritarian regime rather than a freedom-loving democracy like the United States, “the greatest superpower the world has ever known.”

Pundits like CNN’s Don Lemon, among many others, “are dumb” for championing restrictions on unvaccinated individuals that run directly counter to the traditional freedoms in America, he insisted. Parenthetically, back in July 2019, former President Donald Trump tweeted that Lemon was “the dumbest man on television.”

“They don’t understand history, they don’t understand human beings, they don’t understand human nature. They don’t understand the history of every single country that’s every existed, other than the United States,” the generally liberal host of the Joe Rogan Experience, which has a huge following, declared on Friday.

“Up until 1776, every f—–g country that has ever existed was run by dictators, all of them. This is the first one where you had elected officials. This is the first experiment in self-government that actually worked, and it created the greatest superpower the world’s ever known. It created the greatest cultural machine, the greatest machine of art, and creativity, and innovation right f—–g here,” he said.

“And how did it do that? It did it through freedom, because when you give people freedom, you let people do whatever the f— they want to do, they actually find ways to succeed, and grow, and thrive,” Rogan continued.

“But as soon as you put the boots to them, as soon as you tell them, ‘You have to do this, or you can’t do that. You have to listen to me,’ now you have a mini dictator. You have one step away from a king. One step closer. You’re moving one step closer to dictatorship. That’s what the f— is happening, That’s what’s gonna happen with a vaccine passport,” the Spotify podcaster added in an animated rant.

“That’s what gonna happen if they close borders. You can’t enter New York City unless you have your papers. You can’t go here unless you have that. You can’t get on a plane unless you do what I say.”

Rogan was primarily reacting to the decision by far-left, lame-duck New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio to require proof of COVID vaccination to enter certain indoor businesses as of August 16, the first major municipality to do so. The comedian and UFC commentator described it as “f—–g madness” and that the supposedly pro-diversity mayor’s edict will disproportionately impact persons of color.

At the beginning of the segment, Rogan also alluded to some physicians and scientists who are concerned about breakthrough cases (i.e., those already vaccinated persons who have become infected) who are reluctant to speak publicly because they will be branded by the political/media establishment as anti-vax, describing himself as a “f——g moron.”

Rogan also claimed that politicians and bureaucrats are unlikely to give up their newfound power that they have amassed during the pandemic.

Watch a longer version of the segment and draw your own conclusions:

Rogan also called out public health authorities for failing to encourage people to exercise and clean up their diet to strengthen their immune system given that obesity is a primary risk factor for COVID hospitalizations.

Democrat officials are primarily, but not exclusively, the cohort pushing for various COVID-related restrictions on individual freedom

Especially during the COVID era, consistency hasn’t been the “science-supporting” Democrats’ strong suit, however, as many of them have abandoned their past support for civil liberties, privacy (including health privacy), skepticism of big corporations, and the concept of “my body, my choice,” as well as what constitutes or doesn’t constitute a super-spreader event.

All this is occurring as the open-borders Biden administration allows COVID-positive illegal immigrants to pour into the country.

The COVID-19 vaccines are experimental medicines, which don’t have FDA approval, although that is expected imminently. So far, the Biden administration has not imposed a nationwide vaccine passport mandate (although it is requiring federal employees to get the jab), but  employers in the private sector are moving in that direction, which could create a de facto mandate.

Rogan’s latest comments are likely to metaphorically set Spotify employees’ — who are already trying to get him cancelled or the equivalent — hair on fire.

In April, Rogan prompted a controversy when he suggested that young, healthy people need not get the COVID vaccine. He subsequently walked back those comments, describing himself as pro-vaccine and a “f—–g moron.”
