Defense Dept. to determine mandated vaccine rollout for the US military

The Biden administration’s frenzied push to vaccinate the entire nation will be bolstered by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin who is prepared to make it mandatory for all active-duty troops to get a shot as early as this week.

According to media reports, Austin has made the decision to move forward with the order one week after President Joe Biden announced that he had issued a directive for the Defense Department to “look into how and when” the COVID vaccine could be added to the list of those already mandatory for military members.

A Wednesday CNN report quoted an unnamed “defense official” who said that Austin’s “inclination is towards making the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory.” Fox News confirmed that Austin is expected to formally announce the mandatory vaccine order on Friday.

In an address from the White House last Thursday, Biden required that all federal workers would have to attest to their vaccination status, he also gave Austin his marching orders.

“Since many vaccinations are required for active-duty military today, I’m asking the Defense Department to look into how and when they will add COVID-19 to the list of vaccinations that the armed forces MUST get,” Biden said, “our men and women in uniform, who protect this country from grave threats should be protected as much as possible from getting COVID-19.”

‘Our troops serve in places throughout the world, many where vaccination rates are low and disease is prevalent,’ Biden added.

Austin responded to his commander in chief by saying that we “won’t let grass grow under our feet” despite the legal, administrative, and logistical obstacles to what will be a monumental task given the size of the armed forces and Biden’s rush to drive up the numbers after suffering the political humiliation of failing to meet his goal of 70 percent of America fully vaccinated by July 4th.

As of July 16, Austin announced that only 62 percent of active-duty military members had been fully vaccinated and implored compliance in a video statement posted by the SECDEF on Twitter.

Yet Austin isn’t exactly promoting confidence in the effectiveness of the vaccines as Florida Senator Marco Rubio pointed out when the Pentagon chief wore a mask and a face shield during a visit to the Philippines last week.

While the vaccines have yet to receive final FDA approval and are currently under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA), the Pentagon is expected to seek a presidential waiver in order to compel military members to get “the jab,” full approval for the entire country is imminent and could come as early as next month.

The forced vaccinations aren’t likely to boost morale during a year when Austin has already embarked on a mission to radically overhaul the military with a purge of suspected supporters of former President Donald J. Trump, the introduction of Critical Race Theory indoctrination, and a focus on virtue signaling and being “woke” that while earning kudos from Democrats has also delighted America’s adversaries in Moscow, Beijing, and Tehran.
