MyPillow founder Mike Lindell has done the previously unthinkable and pulled ads for his products from the one and only Fox News Channel because of the network’s refusal to give credence to his disputed claims of widespread 2020 election voter fraud.
“Mike Lindell said he made the decision after Fox News declined to run a commercial linked to his efforts to promote his claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election,” The Wall Street Journal confirmed Thursday.
(Note: These claims have been disputed by “experts.”)
In a statement to the Journal, Lindell said he’d wanted to air a commercial for a “cyber symposium” about the 2020 election that he’s scheduled to host next month.
And in case you were curious what all the fuss is about.
$5m prize for anyone who can disprove that Mike Lindell’s data from the election is authentic.
A great opportunity for ANY security or data specialist, IMO. Or at least it would be if the data is not legit. 🤷♂️ pic.twitter.com/hIZLYtjnyk

“Mr. Lindell said the commercial wouldn’t specifically mention claims of election fraud. But he has said the symposium will prove the 2020 election was stolen from then-President Donald Trump through manipulation of election machines,” according to the Journal.
Fox News, which is facing lawsuits related to its airing of disputed 2020 election voter fraud claims, reportedly declined to air the commercial, angering Lindell.
The network wouldn’t confirm to the Journal whether it had indeed blocked his ad, but it did describe his decision to pull out as “unfortunate.”
“It’s unfortunate Mr. Lindell has chosen to pause his commercial time on FOX News given the level of success he’s experienced in building his brand through advertising on the number one cable news network,” the network reportedly said.
By Friday morning, the news had gone viral, triggering an outpouring of widespread support for Lindell, even from Rasmussen Reports.
The renowned pollster noted that Lindell had been one of a few advertisers who’d stuck with Fox News host Tucker Carlson when the establishment media had come after him.
Flashback: Mike Lindell was once the only or one of a handful of paid advertisers supporting @TuckerCarlson during the Media Matters boycott efforts. His symposium informational ad that Fox News refused will run on all over the internet, Newsmax, OAN, RSBN, War Room & elsewhere. https://t.co/fMr7cmNCdM pic.twitter.com/Dt2MmeGi9L

Meanwhile, one either courageous or foolish Fox News contributor decided to make it extremely clear to the public that he personally stands AGAINST Lindell.
For the record, I back Fox News over Mike the My Pillow guy
— Geraldo Rivera (@GeraldoRivera) July 30, 2021
As of Friday morning, the tweet above boasted a 900 percent ratio, meaning nine times as many people had left comments on Rivera’s post than had retweeted it.
The comments were all immensely negative.
And we favor Mike over you.

This bombshell news comes amid a flurry of related stories.
First, journalist Jack Posobiec has claimed that the Biden administration is mulling calling Lindell to testify for congressional Democrats’ partisan Jan. 6th Commission.

Second, Lindell reportedly told Zachary Petrizzo of Salon and Mediaite that Fox News’ refusal to run his ad is a “huge example” of “cancel culture.”
In a later night conversation with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, he tells me that Fox News not running his “cyber symposium” ads is a “huge example” of “cancel culture.”

Third, The Atlantic just published a lengthy profile of the MyPillow founder titled, “The MyPillow Guy Really Could Destroy Democracy.”
The sub-heading is just as hyperbolic: “In the time I spent with Mike Lindell, I came to learn that he is affable, devout, philanthropic—and a clear threat to the nation.”
The headlines have drawn a great deal of mockery, even from his critics.
The headline argument made in this @TheAtlantic story by the usually excellent @anneapplebaum is as false and overwrought as the claims pushed by MyPillow’s Mike Lindell (whose pillows are overpriced and mediocre imo). https://t.co/fO2tuY0m9g

That sub heading 😂 “Mike Lindell has all the traits of a good person – so he must be destroyed”
