House Republicans defy Pelosi’s orders, march maskless to Senate floor, tell her to ‘kiss my mask’

Maskless House Republicans marched to the Senate floor in protest of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s arrogant reinstated mask mandate after she reportedly ordered the arrest of those who did not comply.

Dozens of House Republicans and their staffers walked into the Senate chamber on Thursday after Capitol Police instructed officers to arrest staff members and visitors who refused to wear a mask and then not leave the House of Representatives. The police subsequently backed down after a massive backlash. They did not say they wouldn’t arrest anyone but did say it shouldn’t come to that as tensions flared over masking up once again.

U.S. Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) attempted to adjourn the House twice in protest of Pelosi’s powerplay. Approximately 50 House Republicans stood with him including Reps. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), Byron Donalds (R-FL), and Kat Cammack (R-FL).

“Congressman Roy said it succinctly on the House floor Wednesday: ‘We have a crisis at our border and we’re playing footsie with mask mandates in the people’s house,’” Roy’s spokesperson told Fox News via email. “The fact that Speaker Pelosi is willing to have vaccinated staffers arrested for not complying with her mask mandate while the border remains wide open tells you all you need to know, This isn’t about science. It’s about politics and control.”

Cawthorn told Fox News that Republicans “took a firm stance on individual liberty.”

“Along with the majority of Americans, we rejected the totalitarian, hypocritical, and arbitrary ruling from Speaker Pelosi demanding masks be worn in the House,” Cawthorn declared. “My staff should never fear arrest because they practice individual responsibility.”

Micah Bock, Cawthorn’s communications director, was allegedly stopped by an officer and then prevented from entering the Cannon House Office Building because he did not have a mask on. He was reportedly told that he had to “wear a mask to go through security” and what he did after that was his “own concern.”

“The speaker of the House does not control the U.S. Capitol Police,” Pelosi spokesperson Drew Hammill claimed when speaking to Fox News. “We were unaware of the memo until it was reported in the press.”

Republicans did not buy that assertion.

Capitol Police said in a memo on Thursday that “there is no reason it should ever come to someone being arrested.”

“Anyone who does not follow the rules will be asked to wear a mask or leave the premises,” the police proclaimed. “The Department’s requirement for officers to wear masks is for their health and safety.”

A number of staffers and visitors were reportedly seen walking around the House side of the Capitol without masks on Thursday and weren’t arrested.

Maskless Republicans gathered in the Capitol Rotunda in protest. “Arrest us!” one of them was said to have shouted. No one was arrested by the police over the transgression.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is arguing that the government has no authority to issue such a mandate. “If we cave on our freedoms in the halls of Congress, what hope do the people have across America?” she told Fox News.

“I will not comply with Pelosi’s anti-science mask mandates,” she declared. “She can kiss my mask.”

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) called it a “socialist takeover of America” that is being led by Pelosi and President Biden.

“The Democrats are back at it again – whatever it takes to put you back into lockdown,” she tweeted. “Now we hear that Speaker Pelosi is going to have people arrested if they do not wear a mask. I don’t know about you, I’ve not heard one valid reason that a person who has been vaccinated should be forced to wear a mask.”

Rep. Thomas Massie, (R-KY) is now suing Pelosi over the mask mandate and constitutionally challenging her authority.

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) mocked Pelosi in a video on Twitter, where he donned a mask to cross the “DMZ (Deplorable Mask Zone)” dividing the Senate portion of the Capitol from “the Socialist controlled House side.”

House Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) tweeted, “Madam Speaker, your insane power grab is showing. Today I’m not wearing a mask outside of the chamber b/c I follow science — not Pelosi. Come and get me.”

“That is not a speaker for America. That’s a speaker only concerned about her own wealth, her own direction, and our own control,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said during a news conference. “This is the people’s house, not Pelosi’s house.”

Republicans are demanding to see the CDC’s data for calling for another mask mandate across the nation.

The response to Pelosi’s dictatorial threats was thunderous:
